A jury in San Mateo, CA today found Scott Peterson guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Laci, and of second-degree murder in the death of their unborn son today. The verdict reached by the six-man, six-woman jury leaves Peterson facing a possible sentence of death or life in prison without parole.

I can't actually believe justice was served in CA. Even if he wasn't guilty, he was dumb as hell. My faith in CA has risen slightly... though still way below any other state in the union.

Living in California, I thought for sure that guy was going to get off, especially after they excused the two jurors. Because of the goings on during deliberations, Geragos will file an appeal immediately. At least for the meantime, justice is served.

7 of every 8 respondents to a survey on MSN say they agree with the jury ... it'd be interesting to know how many of those who disagree also think it should've been 1st degree for the baby as well as Laci ...

What is the most appropriate sentence for him ?? ... a young woman at my office suggests taking him out on the bay in the rowboat to a spot near where he took Laci, putting cement anchors on his arms and legs, then tossing him overboard ...

I dunno ... life in prison has some appeal too ... as Hog suggests, there'll be a lot of guys there who'd love to have their way with a weakling like this guy ... not many rank lower among hardened criminals than wife and child murderers ...

A bet after a few weeks in prison labeled a wife and unborn child killer he will wish he got the death penalty...

lukin,

It's not served until appeals are over and his sentence is carried out.

After that, it's tossin' salad time... for life!

Being pleased with the verdict...he now has the people's permission to rot in Hell.

First...he should endure some of what his lovely wife had to endure....and he should be alive to experience it all.

It's too bad we don't operate that way.

Actually...maybe he should be set free. That way...someone can kill him easier.
