Maybe now the President can get things done a little sooner and without having pile on precious tax dollars for meaningless projects. The following is an excerpt from one of my favorite websites, Citizens Against Government Waste, (cagw.org) a must read for anyone interested in government spending:

"Since coming to power six months ago as Senate Majority Leader, Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) has done little more than play to his party's special interests. The farm lobby, labor unions, teachers' union, and the environmentalists have all recently gotten big Christmas presents from the Daschle Democrats, while pressing national business has gone unaddressed. Worse, Daschle has let spending zoom out of control even while he hammers the White House for - gasp! - cutting taxes during a recession."

I am "troubled, deeply troubled"...about what I, a career politician, am going to do with my life, now that the voters of the great state of South Dakota have kicked my butt out of office!!!

Easy... he's going to live life like a friggin' king on the taxpayers dollar. Don't you know the kind of retirement plan these filthy politicians voted for themselves??

It's ridiculous. I have to do 20 years in the military for a pittance and they serve one term and get retirement benefits the likes of which would astound you...

I'm fully aware of that...but its Daschle's style to be the "Drama-Queen", trying to illicit as much self-pity and sympathy as humanely possible.
