The pathetic sap in this video highlights the disturbing trend on our college campuses of extreme binge drinking.
Now I'm no prude; I went to college in the psychedelic '70s when acid, 'shrooms, buttons, dope, and various suspicious potions were widely used [at least by me ;) ], along with alcohol. But I am told that nowadays almost all drinking is of the binge variety. Alcohol poisonings are becoming common.
"A new study shows that six percent of college students meet criteria for a diagnosis of alcohol dependence (also referred to as alcoholism), and 31 percent meet the clinical criteria for alcohol abuse."
I don't know how "new" that study is by now, but all the details can be found at: http://alcoholism.about.com/cs/college/a/blcas020614.htm
Those numbers seem much higher than my experience (all those years ago).
