The Detroit News is saying today that the Oakland Raiders are shopping Jerry Rice in advance of the Oct. 19 trade deadline ...

Which other team, if any, do you think will pick him up ??

I hear Montana is playing in a over 40 flag football league. I bet he's interested.

The word is that the Lions may be interested for him to be a slot rec./mentor to their young but talented rec. corp. I possition I do not feel he would be interesated in being that his ego is still the size of a small country and has yet to except the fact that his skilz have diminished. Kinda like me still trying to play the infiled in softball. The mind is willing but the body says, "Hey, cut that out stupid. You cant do that anynore".

My favorite football team is the 49ers. Love 'em, even as bad as they suck right now. Rice is a legend. Even at 40 something he is still better than about 40% of the receivers in the league. I was really disappointed when he left. With that being said, I believe he is holding on too long. Tarnishing his legacy if you will. He went to Oakland because his family did not want to leave the Bay area. He should be coaching young receivers now. Not trying to pad his already ridiculous stats.

hey Mac's I think its more than 40%, and think it would be only fitting that he spend the next five years with the 49er's. oh yea, and one more super bowl.

They have actually been shopping him since preseason. There are two teams that really could use him. The Bucaneers and the Niners.

I see the remarks about age but the past three years he has outperformed all but a handfull of receivers. In fact, he has out performed Moss in some statistical catagories.

I wouldn't mind seeing him land with the Iggles. I think TO respects him and he maybe could add that winning touch to that team. Plus he is still a better receiver than several of the current birds.

T.O. doesn't respect anything not attached to a picture of a dead president. I call him "LEON". Rice would not only NOT fit in in Philly, he would be pulling splinters from his football pants. He'll stay right where he is, and maybe catch a pass or 2 in the process.
