Seems the Democrats are filled with such hatred of GW and the Republicans, that they have resorted to gunshots (possibly attempted murder?)...

This puts the Democrats, and their failed ideaology, at all-time lows.

Does anyone know exactly where Rick was at the time of the shooting? Rick can you prove you were in California? Inquiring minds want to know.

JonR

you are using the phrase "inquiring minds" very often. i assume you feel you have one.

when sheba goes in the backyard and sniffs the ground looking for any stranger that might have invaded his yard,

when one of my parrots looks into the feed dish to see what i have put in it for her to eat,

when my canary touches the bath water before he goes in to make sure the temperature is correct for him,

when my mechanic lifts the hood of my car to check for needed oil,

when the electrician uses a tester to find out if a line is hot,

and when i check my toilet paper after i wipe my ass to see if i am bleeding,

these are examples of inquiring minds.

i've known inquiring minds, and you do not have one.

Apparently these vicious, violent, unprovoked attacks by you Democrats against Republicans is far more common than you are willing to believe...

http://wowktv.com/news/index.cfm?newsItemID=1320

Interesting that you never hear about Republicans firing gunshots at Democratic offices!!

The Modern Democratic Party is a disgrace, given that their members have resorted to this kind of despicable violence!!

This would have never happened if the Republicans had not lifted the ban on assault rifles. Now we have Democrats driving around shooting AK-47s and Uzis out of moving cars.

I am not a Democrat, but I can see why some Democrats, would want to shoot a republican.
I own a strip of land, on a major N S highway, in the county. Traditionaly I have allowed anyone who wants to put campaign signs on the property, until yesterday.
I was fishing, yesterday, on the lake across the road from my property. The democrats, had called me a couple of weeks ago and asked permission to put signs up on my property. I had told them that I would be happy to allow anyone to put campaign signs on my property, as long as they had them picked up within a week after the election. They had put signs up Supporting Kerry, as well as signs for other Democrats, running for local offices, and the US senate. I told a fellow at the Republican headquarters that they were free to do the same. I was there picking up signs for Boozman, or local republican Representative to the US house. I was told that they would, but they were short on supplies, and would get some out there as soon as they had posts to put the signs up with. I told them that the Democrats already had signs up there with my permission.
While I was fishing, a truck with Bush Chaney stickers on it pulled up, and I thought great, they got the signposts, and were there to put up their signs. Much to my horror, the fellow started tearing down the Democrats signs, and used their, the democrats, posts to put up republican signs. I pulled my boat over to the bank, and walked over to confront the signpost thief. I told him that I didn't mind him putting up his signs but he needed his own posts. He was very rude, and said that the Democrats were all rats, and didn't deserve to put their signs on this property, as it was owned by a republican who had called and asked for the Republican signs to replace the Democrats signs on his property. I asked him who owned the property, and he could not give me an answer. I explained to him that I was the property owner, and that I had given the Democrats permission to put up their signs, and that he should remove the republican signs, from the democrats posts, and he should supply his own posts. He apologised, and said he didn't have any posts, but he would be back in the morning, to put up his signs. I told my neighbor, a major Democrat supported that his signs were damaged, and he went down and replaced them.
I got up this morning, and took a walk, down to the lake, with a CAO Black Torp, and my commuter cup full of Carribean Cutthroat. As I got to the edge of my property, and found all the signs that my neighbor put up, torn and scattered in the highway rightofway, and the posts now sporting new republican signs. I just got off the phone with the local republican headquarters, recinding permission for them to put up their signs, and telling my friend manning the phones this morning, why. I am still pissed, but am not going down to the headquarters with my gun, though my neighbor might. You guys have seen my neighbor, on the picture post awhile back. I wouldn't want him mad at me. I'll see if I can dig up that post.
Have a great day.

P.S. I am going to set up survalence cameras, on that corner, and will be pressing Destruction of property charges, if it happens again.

Although tearing down campaign signs is wrong and surely is criminal behavior, I do not think it would pass a global test for shooting at someone.

Your probably right Hockeydad,
but check out the picturepost entitled "Welcome to the Arkansas Ozarks." Do you think my neighbor cares???
Those were his signs the Republicans tore down.

Homie, unfortunately both parties do that. While I have no signs in my yard my parents have signs from both parties.

I did not know you owned a small lake.

Hey Bassdude,
The Lake is directly across Highway 21 from my property. It is a public lake, and I fish there 3-4 times a week. Yesterday I caught a 7 1/2 lbs largemouth.
Have a great day.
Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew)
P.S. I know that both parties steal signs. Just trying to illustrate, what might piss someone off enough to fire a gun at headquarters. I am not saying either criminal is correct. But both acts are criminal.

3 Arrested in Md. After Political Signs Are Vandalized

By Miranda S. Spivack
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, October 6, 2004; Page B08

They staked out a spot on Route 40 near Ellicott City with unmarked police cars and plainclothes officers, then waited for the culprits to arrive.

Twice in the past 10 days, the stakeouts have netted arrests: three people charged with destroying Bush-Cheney signs, Howard County police said.

The election-year ritual of political sign demolition took on added significance this year after reports of a sign being set on fire in front of an Ellicott City home, police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said.

"That was of great concern," Llewellyn said. "We wanted to nip it in the bud."

Police said they had not received reports of similar vandalism from the Democrats. Howard's Democratic Party chief said she knew of at least 100 incidents but said they had not been reported to police.

The surveillance operation of Republican posters began after the report of a sign burning and a complaint from Howard Rensin, chairman of the Howard County GOP. The stakeouts occurred Sept. 24 and again Friday, Llewellyn said. Police said they saw suspects cutting down Bush-Cheney signs before they made the arrests.

Police arrested Corey R. Cooke, 33, of Ellicott City on Sept. 24. Peter Lizon, 30, and his wife, Stephanie Louise Lizon, 34, of Randallstown were arrested Friday. All were charged with malicious destruction of property and were released on bond.

Police initially thought their work might be done with Cooke's arrest but decided to continue the surveillance after they discovered more vandalism.

"While Mr. Cooke was in custody, an additional sign was damaged. That led officers to believe he may not have been the only suspect in these vandalisms," Llewellyn said. "So they relaunched the surveillance."

According to charging documents, Peter Lizon was seen using a bayonet about 4:45 p.m. Oct. 1, to cut holes in Bush-Cheney signs near the intersection of Route 40 and Executive Center Drive. Stephanie Lizon apparently was acting as the lookout, police said.

On Sept. 24, near the same spot, police said, Cooke was arrested about 8:40 p.m. after they saw him use an unidentified tool to strike wooden posts holding a Bush-Cheney sign. One of the officers called for backup and "multiple patrol units" responded within seconds, the charging documents said. Police said they later found a sledgehammer, saw and "utility tool" in the trunk of Cooke's car.

No one has been arrested in the sign-burning incident, Llewellyn said.

Wendy Fiedler, the county's Democratic chairwoman, said she now has decided to encourage local Democrats to file reports with police when their signs are vandalized. "This whole sign issue has really gone over the top this year," Fiedler said. "It's getting really ugly."

In one night last weekend, she said, several dozen Democratic signs along Centennial Lane, which borders Columbia and Ellicott City, were taken down by vandals.

Also, she said, one Democratic activist who lives in Ellicott City had reported a gunshot near his house and that a police report was made. Police were unable to confirm that late yesterday afternoon.

"Temper are starting to flare. You have to wonder who is behind something like that. Somebody is going to get hurt," Fiedler said.

Homebrew,
to quote your last post:
"P.S. I know that both parties steal signs. Just trying to illustrate, what might piss someone off enough to fire a gun at headquarters. I am not saying either criminal is correct. But both acts are criminal. "
Are you comparing trashing a 50 cent sign with shooting someone? "both acts are criminal".
???
Using that logic, a convicted felon is only as guilty as someone who gets a speeding ticket.

I hope you see the difference.
And just for the record, your "destruction of property" case will get thrown out of court based on the fact that the total damage would be about $5. It's not worth the camera, although I understand the anger it causes.

And also for the record, when I was a kid my friends father ran for mayor of our town. We went around town ripping up signs from his opponents.
I guess we should have fired shots at their houses instead....

Holy cow, talk about a spin job. Someone, not naming names, reads an article about some gunshots being fired in which there are no leads as to who did it or what their motivation was and turns it into a diatribe against a political party. What a joke. But wait. This type of idiotic thinking could solve a lot of the unsolved mysteries of the past.

John Kennedy- Shot by a republican zealot on the grassy knoll.
The Lindbergh Kidnapping- Actually kidnapped by the republican party (for political gain of course).
The Zodiac Killer- Actually a republican astrologist gone mad.
Jon Bennet Ramsay- Actually a republican beauty pageant judge that went off the deep end.

Wow! This is great. We can solve all of them. Just pick one and throw your own spin on it. In fact let's keep this going and see how many mysteries we can solve with this highly thought out and scientifically proven method. If we put our astute minds and assinine spins to work, I think we can clear them all up in about a day and a half. Let's get to work!!!!!

If you don't think this was politically motivated...i.e., a liberal GW-hating Kerry supporter firing the shots, then you are far more naive than I gave you credit for.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like a duck, its probably a duck!!

Here's what I think DD.

This duck is a right wing wacko quacko that takes a shot at the office (and possibly attempted murder??- hahahahaha)and then let's all his right wing wacko brothers start conjering up some conspiracy theory that it was a crazy democrat that took the shot. Said wacko's then try and take it even further and try to portray the WHOLE democratic party as a bunch of pot shot taking idiots such as themselves. But hey, this is just a far flung conspiracy theory on my part..........................................................................................................
sort of like your far flung conspiracy theory eh.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So first Democrats are shooting up the RNC offices with AK-47s and now they're blaming the whole thing on a vast right wing conspiracy. Put the guns down and this wouldn't be necessary!

Actually, I'm sure it was a Democrat shooter because he missed. Have you seen some of the NRA right wing wackos......They never would have missed! Well, unless they deliberately missed thus meaning they actually hit...

OK, OK. Actually, I really like your theory except take out "right wing wacko" and insert "neo-con" and it would be ready for press.

Anything's possible, I guess.

But if your theory is correct, like I said before, you'd see many more instances of these "right wing wackos" taking shots directly at Democratic "targets".

Fortunately, this is never the case.

Consequently, I summarily dismiss your "theory", and maintain with virtual certainty that this was a Democratic political "hate crime".
