I have noticed a tremendous amount of new people on our board.

This is wonderful!

I can remember when I was a newbie and trying to determine which cigars were good for me and how expensive that process was.

I was thinking - No Smart Comments Please - that it might be a good idea to provide an opportunity for the new people to get a good sampler from a seasoned veteran.

I would like to see if there is an interest here at Cbid to start a process like this - And - See who would be interested in providing a veteran sampler of smokes to our new people.

I guess it goes without saying that this would not be a chance for our veteran's to get rid of their dog rockets!! On the contrary, it would be an opportunity for them to help a new cigar smoker (Or Seasoned One) by providing them with some of their personal favorites.

If there are at least 10 seasoned veteran’s willing to help start this process then I am willing to run it for the board. In addition, I would provide more details concerning the methods that I recommend that we use to get this going.

It’s all about the Brotherhood!

What say ye?

Regards,

B

That sounds like a first-class idea. I wish someone could have provided this service when I first starting in cigars. I would have been able to save a lot of time and money looking around for my "cigar".

Smithbw, can you email me at rudy1946(at)adelphia(dot) net with your snailer so that I can send you cigars to do my part in this true BOTL endeavor to help the new.

BOTL.... I am a newbie here so fondle me gently :). I could not pass up this oppurtunity to try some different smokes. If you guys will have me? I have been reading posts here for the last couple of months and you guys go above and beyond.

I started this hobby over a year ago and can not seem to put them down. I was introduced to the leaf by a good friend and have made some friends for life in the past year, and hope to make some here.

Anyway.... let me know the details at: tdbama(at)comcast(dot)net.

Billy,I told myself I wouldn't do this, cause I kept giving away the store. But maybe just one nice bomb for an adventurous newb, since I have to make room for some of those end of the year deals.

LMK the details,I'll keep an eye on the thread.

Hello everyone,
I hope all had a wonderful Turkey Day. Wow, what a perfect post! I have been wanting to get in on a pass of some sort, but have that newbie hesitation that my sticks don't match your guys's bombs. I have two 150-count humi's full of Torano, Gurkha, Playboy, and other middle shelf type stuff, but no real goodies. I am always up to send a quantity for quality.(all I can muster). I really am interested in this post and getting involved in herf's, trades and bombs bouncing around. If any generous BOTL would like to include me in, they will have nice packages arriving for some time to come. I do not forget generosity.

I thought that was being done.
Someone sent me a sampler when I first got here. I draw a blank who it was, but anyway, then when swimnaked came here, I sent him a sampler and I am hoping he will return the favor to a newbie sometime.

I was just about to add that Opatience sent me a sampler when I first came here. So it's being done. Very nice of him, and I'm sure I'll return the favor in due time.

Thanks Opatience!

Opatience - What a wonderful gesture on your part. This is the kind of generosity that we would like to do on a large scale and maintain it here on the trade board.

I think that there are enough "Experienced" BOTL that are willing to lend a hand to our newbies.

I will post more details about the sampler later in the day!

Billy, Great idea! I remeber when rck_1 and jd1 sent me free cigars when I first started. Count me in, if you have room for me. I got some Bad Frogs to unload.
