over the past few months i have felt that dave (homebrew) and matt (hoagie) did a great job starting this original birthday club, and they have continued to monitor the group so that it is still going smoothly. the follow-up groups are proof that the idea is a good one. my BOTL hat is off to you two gentlemen and i want to re-express my gratitude to you both. I feel very strongly about this partly because it is september now, and my birthday month.....and if i knew exactly how to do one of those hoah's...i would. suffice to say "job well done!"

yesterday i received my first birthday bomb....mike (iceman) you have landed quite a solid first strike. the assortment of smokes was incredible and the one that i'm not familiar with (black pearl) i've read much about on these boards, and i'm anxious to try. thanks mike so much. december will come.

like others i plan to keep all and post a picture at the end....like others i am not sure i will be able to do so. thanks again, and best regards, john

Enjoy the smokes and have a great birthday. That's a Fittipaldi Trophy. Bought a bundle when they first came out and let them set. Not a premo smoke, but adds a nice visual to the humidor.

big day today with birthday smokes arriving from two great siblings of the leaf.

marla--your gift package was fantastic....all my favorite cigars and a thoughtful card as well. i know that justdand and i took you by surprise with these september birthdays, but you recovered with extreme style and grace and timeliness. thank you.

homebrew dave--you were also right on the mark with your generous gift. that is one substantial group of maddies, and i intend to enjoy each one to its fullest. i'll say again that we are all having this good time because of your efforts to kick off the original birthday club.....and let me take this opportunity to nominate you to do it again next year. i mean, why mess with success! thanks so much.

Hey John,
Happy Birthday, Glad you enjoyed the smokes I sent. I don't see any reason, that this club won't keep going next year and beyond. I mean everyone in the Club, are all great BOTL, or in Marla's case SOTL. I am having a blast.
Have a great day, and a better tomorrow.
Later
Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew)

my mailperson is getting a sour attitude....probably because its not her birthday.....

jd1--thanks so much for the birthday smokes. you have nailed my favorites with those great selections and i am most appreciative. i checked the calender and you are yet to receive.....trust me, it is well worth the wait. thanks and best regards.

roman--'what a birthday present' is my reaction to the package i just opened. two of the choices i have never even seen before, only heard about. needless to say i am in awe. all i can say is thank you very very much. best regards.

by the way....thanks for the football smoke as well, although i also had trouble drawing the line between one event and the other. either way, fantastic gift!!!

John...just glad that:

1) The packaged arrived
2) It was in good condition
3) You liked the selection

Well, what can i say about the football pool cigar..other then, the one you pick doesnt have to make it to the picture...

Enjoy

good grief!!! the day before my birthday and two more heavy hitters weigh in with outstanding gifts.

lowman--thanks so much for the incredible selection of birthday smokes. all will be enjoyed, but that island monte may not make it to picture day. and in spite of all the stress you must be feeling getting your box pass ready, you even remembered matches! thanks to you
and best regards.

harley dave--you have completely outdone yourself. the ashton, the partagas (wow) and the cao were gifts enough, but to top it off with a dc 7 maduro makes for a bomb to be remembered. after such a great selection all i can say is that i hope we keep this club going next year so i can try to get close to even somehow. thanks dave so much.

a sincere thanks to all the brothers and sister of the leaf. john
