Ease your worries brothers, the box has arrived in immaculate condition. It's huge! I thought there might be a DVD player in there (but it's all the dog rockets in the MaddVibe bag:).

I brought home my office digital camera so I will take pics, but cannot post them until Tues. once I'm back at work. Of course, the box will also go out Tues. morning (unless phenix wants to drive in for the holiday? Interested in a Houston labor day herf/handoff?). I intend to linger over all the goodies for awhile and will post my puts/takes on Sat. eve or Sun morning. That should give everyone plenty of time to voice disapprovals (but I'm gonna strive hard to avoid that from happening).

Chewy is safe and sound. He may get loaded up and gain a new friend. What's the deal with all that stuff? Is it all for Ethan? I have no problem with that, but that whisky is both making me nervous and calling out my name!

Who put in the North Stars Bobby Smith autograph card? He was a boyhood hero. I spent the first 25yrs of my life in Minnesota and all of my family (nuclear and extended) still live there. I'm still bitter that they left for Dallas, but now that the Wild are pretty good I'm getting over.....but I digress.....I gotta get back to salivating over cigars.

Have a safe and happy holiday all!

Cheers, Bil

The misc. is a free-for-all...i took the priceless CBid matches put in by Choner...could not find the Gecko and did not know who took it...that would have been my pick...then i saw the habeneros...was digging them...and about to take them...when the wifa (yes, wifa) came in and said to get something practical like the matches???...

Tell you what though...if that whiskey would have been there when i got the box...it would be no more...

I'd snatch that whiskey in a heartbeat. I took the Gecko and put in the dried habbies. If you are interested I grow and dry them myself. I am happy to share.

Okay guys, a couple of questions:

I know we lost a data sheet and RasDas put in lots of time constructing a new one, but there are still lots of gaps and missing information.

Maybe I'm just a geeky, anal scientist, but incomplete data sets like this drive me looney, so I'll likely be up all night trying to sleuth out the proper takes/puts (and I like pouring over cigars too so there is some additional motivation). Hopefully you can help a bit so that I can go to sleep.

First, I think Choner took the Montecristo Delacroix in the bonus bag and replaced it with a AF Work of Art. Coma-one took this Work of Art and his replacement, a Punch Habana, this ended up in the main cigar selection, which Billy Jackson later grabbed (if this sounds reasonable it helps account for one additional entry).

Next, on Ethan's original list he had a HdM Ex 1066. I remember Tone grabbed these. Were they in the main cigar or bonus bag selections? All of his puts are accounted for (taken or still in the bonus bag). The reason I ask is that even though I've managed to fill in 4 blank slots (initialed - I may be wrong) there are still 5 blanks in the original main cigar list Ethan/Tony put together.

It's probably not a big deal and I'm probably obsessing over trivial details (plus I've got Ethan's cd going and after polishing Billy J's contribution I dipped into my own so I'm trying to keep the momentum flowing:), but it would be nice to have complete records if possible. The research is part of the fun....before you do a put, if you don't know the size/name/type, go ahead and look it up. Just a suggestion.

I'm gonna stop now before I write a 350 page Jack Kerouacesque ramble without punctuation. Stay tuned for more cogent contributions tomorrow. Out

Good morning America (shut the hell up and go to bed wer...).

Well, well, well my droogies, an insomniac, vampire-like nocturnal restlessness has ensnared me (substitute a viscous brown liquid for sustenance over the more traditional red, red krovvy) and my spinning gulliver prevents me from any spatchka so I shall post my puts and takes early in order to provide you ample time to cry foul and me a chance to make amends without any horrorshow unpleasantries erupting.

A couple points of interest before starting. The "rules" state that 5-7 puts/takes are typical but slightly more are allowed if you are being VERY fair. Well, if I'm paying $15-20 to ship this monstrosity I want to sample some new cigars. I have selected 9 that I would like to try and replace with equivalent or better smokes.

I checked the MSRP on everything I am taking and putting and believe I am being VERY fair, however, if anyone objects I am not so obstinate that I will not go along with the majority (but I do have data!) and will adjust accordingly.

Here we go:

Takes Puts
1. #61 Cohiba XV AF Fuente Fuente Opus X (4.875x40)
2. #27 La Unica Belicoso Vega Talanga Tercio (6x52)
3. #58 Montesino Torpedo Bucanero Full Sail (6x50)
4. #28 C. Torano Exodus Silver Punch Gran Puro Sierra (6.5x48)
5. #68 CAO Black Gothic Bucanero "Z" (6x50)
6. #50 Partagas Black Torpedo La Aroma de Cuba Churchill(7x50)
7. #52 AVO XO Preludio Hoja XXO Maduro (6x50)
8. #40 Bohemian Hawkeye Robusto Bohemian Predator Robusto (5x50)
9. #70 La Aurora Platinum #2 PAM 1964 Monarca (6.5x46)

Let me know whether you approve. I'd love to mail this back out tomorrow, but no use with Monday being a holiday. Hence, we have lots of time. I will post new numbers on the "puts" once my suggestions are approved by members of the pass.

I also intend to pillage and refill the "bonus" bags. As much as the habana is calling to me, I'm too much of a reserved (read: repressed) midwesterner to take it and not replace it with something equivalent or superior. We'll see. Still lots of time left in the weekend. The host and troop bag will also benefit from a labor day weekend in Houston.

I just heard the paper boy drop my daily fishwrap and I need a refill.

Deliberately,
Bil

Dammit HD,
you keep winning my cheesy contests and not wanting the winnings. Less quantity, more quality with this next one (No, there won't be PAMs, ect. but hey i'm offering free cigars....why would anyone turn that down).

Jay,

so close, i just looked at Cigarsintl if they had a particular item (their prices are always the best) but did a google search for brands not available through our hosts. If box price was available i divided box price by total number of sticks. I only 5-packs were sold, i used that metric

Wer...thats why i said it got a little fuzzy...some takes and puts that were mentioned were mixed up with the bonus bag...and some puts had already been taken...blah...blah...blah....did it drive me crazy...yes, as i am also anal...but not a scientist...a systems analyst though...and missing data is usually what causes me the most grief...ok..ok...enough crying to the world...but felt it better to leave the data blank than to fill it in with erroneous info....

Tonester and Tinman...will shoot you guys some e-mails as i am definately interested in thems peppers...any of you guys into Chipotles???....will shoot you guys an e-mail sometime after golf today...actually might be a hot day where i drink plenty of adult beverages...so probably best to do the e-mails tomorrow...

Oh yeah....great plays Wer...now send the box back to me....

Sleeping??? I'm busy watching College Football Gameday!!!

Great plays, wer and great play by play on your enjoyment of the box - it's like we're right there getting drunk with you!!! I hate watching my favorite cigars come and go, but it's sure fun watching all the festivities! Feel free to snatch up Bobby Smith - I put it in there hoping to find a fan (I have four more at home, also Brian Bellows and Bob Gainey).

Send me an email or call me with any questions on the missing data...

Ethan

Nice lineup Tone.

"it's like we're right there getting drunk with you!!!" Whaddya talking about. That was completely "in control" levity fit for your family viewing pleasure.

ok ok, I'm at peace with the missing data. I'll contact Ethan to try to clear things up as best as possible, but it probably isn't a big deal at this point. All of the cigars remaining in the pass are recorded.

Enjoy game day. Looks like were in for some tropical weather so I get out of yardwork and can sit on the patio enjoying cigars.

Phenix,

I was just going to call out to see that you were ready. Looks like you are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the pass. If so it will go out tomorrow morning and you may see it as early as Wed. because of the short travel distance (Thurs. at the latest).

Just want to double check this address:

Carl Bohn
Basement of the Alamo
San Antonio, TX 78232

Sound correct?

Choner,

My wife and I watched your movie last night. I was just getting ready to put all of your cigars that I grabbed back into the pass when I saw that the hand model credits someone else :^)

All kidding aside, we found it humorous and well done. I've put it back in the box for the next guy to see.

EMOTR boxpass has left Houston (and we don't have a problem!)

I emailed the insurance and tracking numbers to you privately for reasons I explained in the email. I guess I am paranoid.

I took some pictures and will try to get one up soon.
