Saturday and it will be a lazy day for me. On and off thunderstorms that 8track sent me are do to arrive in a few hours. Prolly just do some basic home chores, a load of laundry and cook something for dinner. Dinner menu is yet to be determined. I'd like to make some nice cheese burgers but I forgot to take the burger meat out of the freezer and I'm too lazy to go to the grocery store.

I'm thinking some homemade personal pizzas or do a batch of grilled chicken Caesar salad. A friend notified me this morning that a new hotdog place opened up in the town next door. She took her daughter and grandkids there the other day and gave me a positive review. Maybe we'll go there for some hotdogs, fried food and homemade ice cream. {shrug}

Excellent BBQ last night at a killer price. Between the three of us we split a pound of brisket, pound of pork ribs, a pepper jack sausage, quart of tater tot casserole, couple of beers and a water, and the kid and wife split a slice of coconut cake

List itemized to make the next part more meaningful.
Cashier says I can put my card in. I tell her I don't think she got everything. She repeats. I repeat. She repeats again with some attitude, so I comply. Total cost of the above smorgasbord: $30. I left a $50 tip to ease my conscience and help her out when the drawer comes up short. I don't think she rang up a single ounce of the meat

Lolz that's awesome. But you did your part to make it right by saying something. At that point, I'd just take the free chit.

In other disappointing road trip news, Indiana dunes beaches are closed for high riptide currents. Thankfully we didn't get all the way in and pay at the gate before we found out. Wife saw their announcement on Facebook so we went home. Don't need two road trips to porter co ending in the boy crying.

Waiting to hear back from my parents if we can come use their pool again. They don't keep their phones on them, or even turned on most of the day so it might be a while.

Did you have the blue moon in your eyes?

Alabama 3 is the group (they had to rename as A3 in the US because a band called Alabama already had the band name trademarked). I really like their first album entitled Exile on Coldharbour Lane

(P.S. you missed a nine).

Not sure I can live up to that responsibility. All are welcome to post a nine response when they run into one. I didn't invent it. I'm just another bozo on the bus that tries to carry on a C-bid forum pseudo tradition.

Uneven weekend, but a nice float. 40 years ago, just about nobody floated the river. Now it is all the rage. Near traffic jams with scores of people partying on the sandbars. Loud drunks, louder music.

It was better when the only sounds heard were those of the nature around us.

Get off my lawn!

Morning, weekend warriors. Most of the house related stuff we planned to do is done. Believe just some random stuff on the agenda today. I think shopping is involved. Somehow shopping is always involved

Terence Crawford is a bad mutha fugga. He beat the snot out of Errol Spence Jr.

Gaethje got his revenge vs Poirier. He was winning the last fight and got caught late. This time he just finished it early.

Headed home to the valley and the last days of the July from hell. Hope August is a little cooler. Send rain!

Planning our next get outta town for a trip to Minnesota in a few weeks. Temps and humidity there don't exactly sound too appealing though.

Good Sunday Morning, almost noon, to All! It's a sunny 81° on the way to 95° today. I'm installing a new SimpliSafe alarm system today. I removed all the old sensors yesterday, glad I have a heat gun to soften the double sticky tape.

Yep. It was only three of us instead of our usual four. For the first time, no alcohol was involved. But there were plenty of cigars.

Once returning to camp, enjoyed a Tequila Sunrise.

Core aerated some spots in the lawn, mowed, edged and blowed-off the back yard. I had to adjust a few sprinklers, this heat wave is showing me the weak areas in my sprinkler system...

Got done by noon so I was out of the worst of the heat. Off to finish a few indoor tasks and then I enjoy the peace and quiet while the wife takes the girls to play-date with their friends.

It's good. We love that stuff. Just made a batch a couple weeks back. Habanero, tomato, avocado, cucumber, onion, garlic, black beans, cilantro, corns, and lime juice. I think it's supposed to have black eyed peas too.

My hands are always sore after chopping all that stuff. Someday I'll get a chopper or food processor.

Avocados kinda suck. I use them to make some dips and stuff like guacamole for others but I don't like them. I'd put them are in the same column as fish and seafood but father down.

Don't get me wrong, I love fishing and stuff but I just don't like the taste.

Avocados are awesome. Anyone who doesn't like avocados is automatically suspect... Not talking

I do recall when I first got to CA looking at guacamole and thinking... ain't no freakin' way I'm eatin' that. Turns out it's nectar of the Gods. I had fresh avocado smeared on toast with my eggs & sausage this morning.

Random nothing to add post other than I'm not a fish or avocado fan.

I did make a nice beef stew today though. There's only one serving left for my lunch leftovers tomorrow Sad but I'll survive.

Also did another batch of cucumber salad. Tis the season for cukes. Beef stew leftovers, cuke salad, some watermelon, cookies and yogurt for lunch and snacks tomorrow.

Good Monday Morning to All! It's 73° on the way to 92° today, 93% humidity, I'll be working in my shop/lower garage, with the AC running.

Did not make coffee this morning, reheated coffee from yesterday, getting the alarm system set up kept me from enjoying a second or third cup yesterday. Man am I glad I have that done, including the smoke detector in that requires bringing in my twelve foot stepladder and working from the top. I do not like working off ladders, but I am glad I bought fiberglass ladders rated to hold my fat ass and remain nice and steady. Herfing

Morning all.
Woke up at 4am to go to work. arrived at 6am. Apparently, I didn't sleep well enough last night since I took an uninterrupted 3-hour nap promptly after arrival at work. Now it's time for a cigar

Also up at 4am and out the door by 5am. Was able to get in about 3 miles of the 5 before the sun peeked over the McDowell mountains to the east. Cigar on the patio under the fan and cold drink and now ready for the gym.
