AlThor,
I have faith, that the box, will turn up. The cigars may need some rest time at chipslaves, to recover, but it will be ok. It better be anyway.

My postman thinks I am crazy... I stalk him when he gets close to my building. I think he knows I peek out of the window watching him put mail into our slot...

I want to run out there and scream "gimme that damn EMOTR box and no one will get hurt"! If I see him smoking a cigar on his route he will get a biatch slap!

Yes,
the local Postmistress, gets nervous, when I come in to get my mail. After all the help she gave me, getting the trace started, she still see's, what she describes as a homicidal gleam in my eye. I have assured her, that it has nothing to do with her, as I know she had nothing to do with the missing box. I explained, to her, that it has more to do with, a sense of loss, than homicide, thought if I could get my hands, on whoever misdirected the box, that may be different. LOL

Ok, since we got a few responses from people saying they've had packages take 2 weeks, lets see if something happens by this Friday. If not, I'm going to abandon all hope and just wait for the 30 days (is that right?) and then collect the insurance. I'll get with tonester and split it up evenly and then decide if I can get enough gars and enough perseverance to try to finish it. I think the insurance was a little low to be able to get the box back to where it was when it left Homebrew and obviously we can't replace all the great misc. stuff which was in there (sucks) but we'll just do our best. No piece of crap postal service is going to keep me down!

(yes, I'll still cry myself to sleep every night...)

I'm not even in the pass and this pisses me off! On a lighter note, I was walking past the main USPS hub here in Chicago yesterday after work. It's something like 20 stories tall and takes up an entire city block. I have to walk past it everyday to get to the train. Anywho, I noticed a UPS truck sitting in front of the building. I thouht...wouldn't that be a funny picture. As I got closer, the there were THREE UPS trucks all delivering USPS supplies into the building. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!! They wont even use their own people to deliver their packages. I saw this with my own eyes and I just started laughing out loud! The UPS driver looked over at me and knew exactly what I was laughting at. Go figure :)

Hey AlThor,
If by some chance, the box never surfaces, I will take care of the underinsurance, and send some superpremiums your way, to make up the difference. After looking at the guidelines, for collecting the insurance, I will have to get with my local tobacconist, and get him to certify that the contents were worth at least $250, since there are no bill of sale on the contents.
But for now, I am keeping the faith. Another thing that has me worried though, are cigars prohibited items?? I listed the contents, as collectables, because I was told they were prohibited.
May have to come up with a plan B for collecting insurance.

I just did a quick search and all I could come up with was tobacco seeds and tobacco plants are restricted items. It said nothing about cigars or cigarettes.

Ethan... I will send you out some super premiums as well if this turns out to be a bust. I will be going to Canada some time in the near future and will make sure you are well taken care of...

This just plain sucks!

None of that is necesary guys. It's my pass and it was my risk to take. I hadn't read that about needing to get a tobacconist to certify the worth - what difference does that make? Insurance is insurance in my book.... wow, guess I better start checking out all the hoops to jump through. But all hope isn't lost just yet.... close.... but not yet....

Hey al'Thor,
I believe, as the sender, it is my responsability, to take care of that. I think it's postal regs. that the sender, must make the claim, after 30 days.
Hey chipslave, any sign of the trace, info, yet. The USPS trace I put, on the box, should send the form to you, as well.

Well, yes, unfortunately, you have to be the one to fill out the claim, Dave. Sorry. And I just got off the phone with one of the USPS's finest and she assured me that it is perfectly ok to mail cigars and that would not affect delivery at all.

Hey al'Thor,
No problem, it just helps me to make this work. We need to compile a master list, so I can get with the local tobacconist, to show the value of the pass, at least to the $250 mark, and yes, I should have uped the insurace, on the box, but was confident, maybe overconfident, in the USPS.

Cool, I can formulate the rest, as to what I put into the box, with the exception of any ISOM's.

Guys,
I just had a similar situtation where a USPS sent box never made it to the gent I was trading with. I was real pissed and from now on I only send Certified/ insured or UPS(never thought I had to, in two years of trading never had a problem)!!!

So anyway, this thread is breaking my heart, so if the box is lost and you guys start up another pass, I will donate 5 premium sticks to the box. Just to show support. LMK.

Best of Luck.

PT ;-)

Wow! Thanks PT! I'm pretty determined not to let the USPS kill my pass, so keep a look out...

Even with this little mishap - the amazing BOTL love and generosity that I've received has already made this a rewarding experience - the EMOTR pass still lives on in our hearts!

Hey Chipslave,
That was the impression, that I got, at the post office. Hey Peter, you rock. I too will donate to the cause, if of course, the box doesn't show up. Of course now we would really be testing box pass packaging. I hope that this doesn't happen very often, it could get expensive.

I'm with PT on this one. Even though I'm not part of this pass, I'd be happy to contribute 5 top end sticks to this pass to get it up and running again. Just LMK when and where to send them. I really feel for you guys.

Harley Dave,
You are the man. I really am enjoying seeing the BOTL, who are standing up, and helping out,Ethan, with the lost box. Hey Ethan, let me get my order in, from cbid this week, and I will put 5 premiums in, as well, and we'll get this thing on a roll. I think all people wanting to contribute, should send sticks to you, and you can start it off again. I think this pass deserves, 1 of my FFOX Perfexcion #2. So that will be sent to you as well.

P.S. I think we really need to increase the insurance on this one, or seek alternative shipping options. Another thing, wait until we collect the insurance, to see what other kinds of surprises the USPS drops on us trying to collect.

Even though the box pass did already pass me...i would be more than happy to contribute some sticks to get another round in...

What say you Ethan...from the count of it, i think EMOTR UPS/Fed-Ex box pass can easily start off with some great sticks...but we do need you to sign off on this puppy...we would not like to violate/infringe on any EMOTR trademarks....

Just let us know Ethan...

Wow. This is the perfect example of the unspeakable greatness of the Cbid Brothers. I hope every newbie and everyone just checking out these forums reads these posts and learns of the amazing Brotherhood to be found here. With all of this support - how could I not keep it going? After we turn in the insurance, I'll talk to Tony and see what he wants to do with his part of the insurance proceeds and then regroup. I'll apply the money (if the USPS pays up) and then try to replace as many of the original sticks and then gratefully receive contributions (although it is certainly not necessary - such a noble offer couldn't be refused). Thanks to all. We'll be carefull about how we go about it - I'll talk it over with the remaining brothers and see what they think about doing only UPS or Fed Ex and then we'll revive the EMOTR (or as chipslave put it - "the EMOTR vs. the USPS Box Pass"

I Love You Guys!!!
