I am driving up to Dayton on Friday to hand off the box to Dan at the Dayton Mini-Herf.

I am putting my digital hygrometer into the box overnight to get a good reading.

As to keep everyone cool with box passes and the
excellent way in which Roman put this one together
I respectfully decline in taking part in a future
box pass. I followed all guidelines that Roman laid
out and the actions of one ignorant postal worker
tarnished the pass & my small reputation that I do
have. I'm still happy with the pass though and
received several cigars that I have not tried before.

Package was to have:

- Insurance for $600
- Tracking Number
- Delivery Confirmation
- Signature Requirement

Don't worry, I'll still be on the trade boards though.
If anyone ever wants to trade just holler. Roman can
attest that I'm a worth-while trader.

Octo,

Don't worry about it! Everything worked out alright, and you know to double check that postal worker the next time.

Your reputation is just fine and still in tact on the board. Don't punish yourself for a minor mistake made by others. You made some very nice exchages with this box pass and there's no reason to not participate in the next one just cause of this little mistake.

BTW, Octo... What's tarnished ??? Nothing by any fault of yours...

Not to mention, you're putting a lot of pressure on us guys following you. I'm gonna be scared $hitless when I send out the box now... hoping that nothing happens... Maybe I'll drive it to the next person... Unless something happens while driving... What was that?? Who's there ?? Who's watching me?? Who is listening??? Shhhh... they're all around...

Octo,

What are you worrying about? As long as the box was insured everyone was covered. The tracking number wouldn't have helped if it got lost.

I had the same thing happen to me once. The worker told me that I could track my package by the insurance number. I never figured out how.

I think this Lowman guys would be great at running a box pass. We all know he has the necessary cigars, he's well liked and trusted by most on this board and he has all the right connections.

Docrks and the rest,

I might have made a small mistake, but I think I was following the lead of others. I added a couple of bonus cigars and did not list them on the pass documents. I did this because I saw all of the other bonus sticks in a bag that were also not documented on the corresponding list.

Doc, should we rectify this or just leave all of the bonus sticks in a single bag.

JustDanD,

Make sure you look in the box closely, there is a 'special' bag in there for you. LOL

Rocco -
are you talking about extra sticks for the Box PASS - means that anyone down the line can claim them for a Take and Put (those should be documented)

However - if you are talking about the super secret Host Bag for the Troops --then those are considered "outside: the PASS and are not fair game for all down the line ----these do not get documented !!!

There is a bag listed as Bonus Sticks. I do not believe that any of these sticks have been documented at all. If they were then they should have been in their own bag with the corresponding bag tag. Also, in Octo's picture post those cigars were not shown.

If they should be documented then we might need Dan to put them in individual bags, place them in the proper 'family' bag, and then document them on the pass list.

Those Bonus Sticks you're referring to are the Host Bag sticks - they are all going to the Troops as it says in the documentation pack.

Doc,

There is a bag labeled as Host Bag for the Troops and another bag labeled Bonus Sticks. I'm talking about the Bonus Stick bag.

Someone probably added this after you sent out the pass.

Hey Docrks,
I believe another bag, or two, have been added, since you saw it. There is the host bag, marked for the troops, which appeared to be at capacity, there is also a bag with smokes marked just for you, and another bag, marked "bonus sticks". It appears that those are freebies, though I did not take any, might have added some though. :-)

By the way,
When the box left me, it was getting tough to pack all those smokes in there. I don't know how it, the Tupperdor, is getting closed at all now.

OK Guys ----

How can the Dr. help you if you don't give him all the info....
Rocco - I obviuosly did not know about the Bonus Bags ----sorry for giving you a partial answer - my bad....
Now that we all know about the bag for the Troops - I am requesting that our Ohio Brethren take the contents out (leave the bag for future use) and mail them back to me --- I'll take what is there and send it out to our Warriors in Iraq.... That should also free up some room in the PASS....
If anyone is contributing a Bonus Stick to the PASS --- it should be listed as a PUT !!!!! and placed in its own numbered bag according to Category (H, UL, SP, P) -- and entered on the corresponding sheet. These sticks are fair game for all in the PASS.... Depending on how many sticks we're talking about - I have some ideas at the end of the PASS ....

This Thread is now past the magic #60 which seems to be the level at which it gets real long to load.......... See You All On Part 4 !!!!!
