What I got is this... I am rooting with all my being for a Niners win. One of us will be happy and one of us will be sad, albeit for a brief period. You've had 2 in recent years. One at my expense. It's my turn.

Sit down, Waldo!

Looking into my crystal ball........
I see Taylor Swift in all Kelcie re-plays and all the stadium fan shots.
I see her in the ASST Coaches booth calling playshorse
I see her doing color with Tony Romo

31-27 Chiefs

I have no dog in the fight so either one doesn't matter to me. If I had to pick, I'd go for KC but then again the 9ers are fine too. I'll be sitting on the fence on this but would lean to the 49ers. Or maybe the Chiefs.

When your team wins 13 NFL Championships (cough, cough.. the Packers) or even 10, then we can open up the discussion for further analysis.

Wife and I said the same. As for the game… shocked we haven’t seen a score yet. One up side to a 9er win is all the BS about KC being favored by refs and the nfl being scripted for them can end.

Both defenses showing up (…at least for now…).

Ahhh, like never…. Not talking

But iffin’ you’re asking about halftime, well, that I have no clue. But I’mma sure it’s happened before.

Edit: Google research - there have been 11 times in the Super Bowl that a team has been shutout in the first half. The most recent is SB LIII, NE 3, LAR 0.

Taylor Swift needs to give the halftime locker room speech.

If the the Chiefs lose, Kelce should take her to midfield, take a knee, and in front of the world, break up with her.

Mahomes could've ended it, receiver was open in the middle on the last play before they kicked FG to tie it.

Great game! No dominance by either team. Both defenses keep it close although both looked worn down in OT. A couple key injuries to 49er players made me wonder if the outcome mighta been different but the “What if” game is for the clickbait chasers. Andy saved the best for last. Mahomes is truly generational.

Niners could have ended it in regulation without that missed extra point.

If ifs and buts were candid and nuts ............

I thought the Niners were gonna pull off a win but when KC scored 10 points and shutout SF in the 3rd quarter, it just felt like the tide had turned. In that critical quarter, Shanahan’s play calling was less than stellar. Iirc, SF ran the ball only once and had 3 3-and-outs. While he is a very good coach, it’s the 3rd time he’s lost a SB with a two-score lead. Once as OC for Atlanta and then twice as HC.

With that being said, I don’t doubt that KS will win a SB one day but it better be soon while Purdy’s contract is manageable.

Fixed it!

Other than that...I agree 100%. While I tip my hat to the defending SB champ and pulling that off...so rare that is...that game really could've gone either way and I'd be fine. I was really thinking Purdy was gonna be more open to down field targets (which were minimum) and a run game to set up the pass. Oh well. KC did play lights out D like I said they had to. Not only was this game under the wire...it was that D of KC that won the game.

Prove me wrong.

Yes, Conan... 3 times Kyle Shanahan has called a horrible fkn game. Still... if Garapolo hits that open receiver, they win that one.

Why did they stop trying to run? Why didn't they throw the ball to Kittle? Lotsa WTF moments...

I was wondering on that last regulation drive they were running the ball to great success, and on 2nd and 5 in the red zone they don’t run play action or the naked bootleg that they did earlier in the game with good success.

I hate the pseudo pick plays like the one ran to win the game.

I stopped doing the “What if…” game a few years ago. Thinking about what coulda been just drove me crazy. Easier to just accept what happened and move on. But iffin’ you can’t do that, it’s cool. It’s why “fan” is derived from “fanatic”.

As to why they stopped running the ball? A mystery to all of us but there must have been something the KC defense was doing that made Shanahan think passing the ball was the best option. Quite frankly I can’t remember if it was poor execution or good defense (…or both…) that caused the 4 for 10 passing (25 yards ), regardless, it was a bad time to produce 0 points and let the Chiefs take the lead.

one of the best SB games in.................................... a couple years, since 2022...

I tried to be neutral, but all the years (since the 80's) of hating the 49ers for their destruction of the Rams caused my inner fan to give small cheers to KC during the game and then to erupt at the finale.
