Don’t have a dog in the fight but enough non-football reasons to root for both sides so gonna just cheer for a good game.

Check that, wanna see a GREAT game with no one taking more than a one score lead at any given moment. Wanna see / read about super fans sweat the game out. Often times they can be just as entertaining as the game itself. Herfing

going with the Dogs...PAC 12/West Coast football never gets any respect or recognition from East coast college football fans...they act as if a game without an SEC team is not a real game...see post #5

but to be honest, I have the same response to a World Series without the Dodgers...DGAF.

Rooting for Washington, simply because their QB Penix Jr has been through some trials with injuries and such. Finally had a healthy season.

Well chit. When I looked at the poll I saw Michigan up top and voted for them. Only after I voted did I see Alabama listed at the bottom. If I’d seen that before I voted for Michigan I would have thrown my support to Bama just to piss Russ off.

Both offenses off to a good start. Defenses not so much.

Am not. McAfee is such an Aaron Rodgers butt-boy, I can't stomach the sight of him.

Good game so far. Can’t wait to see what the second half brings.

Michigan has done a great job of controlling the line, but Penix has come through when needed.

Washington has the momentum and will start the 2nd half with the ball. Could see a tie game soon.

To a point, yes. But on this TV version, I enjoy the comments by Hawk and Butler since they bring more defensive insight. As a whole I don’t take Pat too seriously. He’s definitely a character and does push his gimmick as just a dumb punter but underneath that facade is a VERY savvy businessman. Having ARodg is a brilliant way to get people to watch the show ‘cause there are a LOT of people that love as well as hate him.

Ultimately it’s just sports so while I enjoy the moments, I don’t take it that seriously.

Good job Michigan.

Some key takeaways for me:

The game was much closer than the final score.

I expected a defensive battle and that it was.

Penix isn’t as good as I thought. Washington didn’t face a really tough defensive line this year that could penetrate and put pressure on him. Under pressure his accuracy suffered and he made poor choices. Tonight’s performance should silence any lingering thoughts that he should have won the Heisman.

I thought the score would be close. If not for the interceptions it would have been much closer.
