So, last week my wife and I dropped off our youngest at the University of Oklahoma Medical School. (And by “dropping him off”, I. Ean moving him and all his chit from Dallas to OKC) and we’re able to attend his White Coat Ceremony. Hey get the white coat right before starting their first year.

Very proud of the young man that he has become.

Feel free to humbly brag about your youngsters.

Sorry NO PASS Shame on you

Only if it's a legitimate win on the current running 500 at the time you hit 500.

Damn brother, that is definitely something to be proud of. Congratulations to your son, and good job to you and the wife. fog

I understand your excitement... just edit the title and remove the 500 so everyone calms down. LOL

That's awesome, Stinger. Congrats!

Also, it smells like a chinese knockoff of a 500 in here.

Well, now that the confusion (…as least on my part…) has dissipated, congrats to Stinger and Mrs. Stinger on a great accomplishment. You raised him well! Applause

Congrats, Stinger!

Knockoff aside, I'm going with it. The boy is 3yrs out of school, makes as much as I do, and closed early July on his 1st home.

I told him he's doing it wrong. Proper order is crappy apt + roommates, crappy apt alone, crappy house with a lifelong roommate if you're lucky, then the nice house.

^^nice SOB. Definitely nice to see your kids grow up to be good adults. Now if we could just get thwarted older one to get going on life. He is in idle right now and makes just enough to get by.

It’s not the 500, it’s the new 501.

Fixed it.

True. It took me failing out of college and joining the Air Force to really get me on the right track.

Congrats to all of you and your kids. I was never a fan of kids when I was younger but then in my late 20's ish I had 2 and life changed drastically (well actually the wife at the time did most of the work growing them in her body an producing them).

A switch flipped, suddenly my life revolved around them in a good way. I don't know how to explain it. Something magical or ritual or spiritual happens when you have kids. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love both of my kids and proud of both of them. They are my #1 focus in my life and I would do anything for them.

My kids are kinda at a cross road in life as they are becoming young adults. My son is starting his first yr in college this fall, he's gonna major in to environmental science (as of now... he's changed his mind numerous times while in high school). I'm moving out of my current living situation and he's moving in with me we and will live off campus thus saving some money and not living in a dorm. My daughter is still in high school and living with the exwife. She's getting her driver's license this winter. As it stands now, she wants to go to law school after she graduates high school.

I'll be in the poor house or living in a cardboard box after contributing to their college tuition and stuff.

If I didn't have kids, I'd likely move back to WI to take care of my aging parents. I talked with my kids about it a little bit but in my heart and my brain I knew the answer. I can't leave them behind nor do I want to uproot them. My son was kinda open to relocating and going to college in the Green Bay area but I can't take one and leave the other behind. Had a discussion with my parents who I love as much as my kids but my parents told me to stay were we are. My kids come first and the parents come 2nd. I'm not sure about that. It's 1a and 1b in my opinion. It's been a mental and emotional internal battle swimming in my brain but my parents are probably right.

If the kids decide to move out of state for a job or school then things may change.

I'm extremely proud of my kids. They are the #1 thing in my life and I will support them with everything I have available. That even includes body parts if they need them. I just need to stay alive long enough to see them grow into responsible adults and start families on their own if that is what they decide to do.

We kinda did the unthinkable. I retire from the military in OK. About the same time as the youngest graduated HS. We dropped him off at OU and the next day we were pulling a trailer down to Destin FL for our new home.
