Good friends and smokes. What more could you want?

Send more pics of her, since E-Chick won't. Couldn't tell if your friend was cold. Does your friend smoke gars?

Just came in from in my yard with jeans and a tee shirt. Here in Boston it's 48 and drizzly. Gotta love this weather.

By the look of things, you are living right. 60 degrees? I am from Wisconsin. At 60 I am still in shorts and a tank top. And perspiring. With a cold drink.

I'm a child of the Rocky Mountains and it gets pretty cold there in winter ... not like Buffalo, Green Bay or other bastions of ugly winters, but cold enough I know well how warm 60 used to feel after a long winter of single-digit or sub-zero lows and constant below-freezing highs ... still, being in San Francisco evry day, I also know how miserably cold 60 can also be ...

Mark Twain is reputed to have said that the coldest winter of his life was a summer in San Francisco ... whether he actually said that or not, it is a pretty good description of how 50 and 60 degree temps can be miserably cold. I get into The City early enough each day that's it's still in the 50's or less and I can tell you, that temperature alone does not define cold ...

I, at least, live in the 'burbs and can enjoy an evening cigar most nights ... but ask CWilhelmi, another transplanted child of the Rockies, how 60 can destroy the pleasure of even such a fantastic cigar as a CAO Brazilian ... I guarantee you there's almost no evening in the year when he could be out on the roof of the building he lives in and enjoy a cigar ... here, that's just not possible, even at 60

Steve is right on, most nights here may be 55 or so, but it's not like 55 in Denver!!

I wish it were more agreeable temperature wise, because as Steve can attest, my roof deck is prime for cigar smoking!! We watched the Blue angels tear up SF today, buzzing the golden gate bridge, doing many incredible tricks and coming so close overhead you could feel their raw power!!! Since I can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Transamerica tower from my roof you'd think it was perfect, but without a heater and a wind block it's seldom used!

Enjoy them wherever, and whenever you can!!

60 degrees is cold?!?!?!?! Come up and spend a winter in Wisconsin and I'll show you cold. 60 degrees...what a wuss.

Well at least you got that hot little number to keep you warm. Yes indeed those CAO Brazilias are hot little numbers.

all 60deg temps are not equal ... in the Rockies where I'm from, I've been comfortable outdoors wearing only a sweater with temps quite a bit lower than I bundle up heavily for here in SF ...

It's a different kind of cold ... I'd have never believed it until I lived it, but it's a no-foolin fact ... as Chris mentioned above, we spent the afternoon on the roof deck of his apt, watching the Blue Angels (see his post above; lunch, the flight demo, the weather, the Bass Ale and the cigars made it a fabulous afternoon)... but, had I stayed in The City and gone onto that roof again last night at 9 and gone back to that rooftop instead of out on my patio for an evening smoke, I'd have frozen my a** off ... and last night wasn't as bad as most.

This is not to say that our weather is comparable to the sub-zero temps of Wis, Min, Mich, NY, Ill or anywhere else in that part of the country ... it's not and luckily, we don't have to drive these hills with snow on them ... what I'm saying is a 45-55 deg evening, which is typical here in SF (even in mid summer) FEELS as cold as a 20-30 deg evening in the Rockies and one CANNOT sit outdoors and enjoy a cigar or much of anything else in those conditions ...

Well, I guess I'm going to have to visit. I don't understand how 60 degrees in one place can be colder then 60 degrees in another. Unless it is 60 with a wind chill factor added on. But then again I'm not a meteorologist so I could be all wrong on the subject.

I'm guessing that if its 60 in Texas and I'm there I'm wearing shorts though. Heck, I wear shorts sometimes when I'm shoveling snow (unless its windy).

A lot of it has to do with the wind!! But it's also nearly 100% humidity when the fog rolls in. Think of it like being in 55 degree water, pretty damn cold!!

I've lived in the lovely West Texas deserts, the equatorial zone of SE Asia, and now Houston, so once it gets below 80*, I'm cold 8-)
