Being from STL, he is not washed up. He is just not a "Team Player" and has a history of causing Team decension. Plus, his wife likes to get on the radio and cry and wine when her hubby is treated unfair by the coach, Team or fans..Just remember it is coming..the minute Eli takes a snap in a game.

Then why could he only get a job on a team with a rookie as their number two.

Did you watch the game? I haven't seen two happier feet since Geoffrey Hines. He can't take the pressure, and can't read the defense's. I will give you that he has done a serviceable job with the Giants but come on, you can spell their offense in four letters......TIKI.

Also being from the St Louis area, I say he is not the QB he was when he took the Rams to the SB. He is more timid and does not have the self confidence he had when he was part of the 'greatest show on turf'. Thank God he took his wife with him.

when i watch football, i am not influenced by what his wife wears of says.

since i don't read any st louis papers, i would not be aware of any dissension he may have caused. when they won the superbowl, i doubt that there was any.

i will agree he is a little more timid, although i don't see the happy feet that some claim, i do see him moving to get the hell away from the unblocked defense rush that his line can't seem to stop.

4-1 with a team that was not considered worth mentioning is a good start.

Im one of the ones that said he was washed up. My opinion hasn't changed. I am surprised that he is still a "servicable" QB. But they aren't 4-1 because of Warner. They are winning with good defense and a running game.

Tiki Barber is carrying the offensive load. If they had to rely on ol' Kurt it would be icky.

Plus, Little Pissant Spolied Brat Manning proved he wasn't ready for the mans game, so the really have no choice.

IMO, Warner isn't so much 'washed up' as he is reverted to normal status ... I thought at the time they were winning big in StL that he was playing over his head and have seen nothing in the interim to make me think differently ...

It's sorta like the fresman coach I had in HS ... he kept trying to make a receiver out of me, because he saw me make a sensational catch ... problem is, it was the ONLY sensational catch I ever made in my life ... after that single catch, I reverted to form and future coaches were smart enough to play me in positions that didn't require me to touch the ball ...

Similarly, I think Warner had a brief, albeit somewhat spectacular period of greatness, then quickly reverted to form ...

He also is not the brightest fellow in the world. He can't read defenses and in the past Vermeil and Martz would not let him change any plays at the line of scrimmage. He once filed a complaint to the NFL over foul language directed at him from one of the assistant coaches. Bulger is a much better fit.

SteveS, excellent point. It is kind of like the situation with Gannon in Oakland. He had the one great year in a dink and dunk offense and then the next season he was back to the mediocre QB that he had been all his career.

Rick, in case you don't know what happy feet are, that is when he sits there and bounces up and down every time he steps up in the pocket. Watch him this next week and you will be able to count on one hand how many time he sets his feet and throws the ball. Not an opinion, just fact.
