Talk like this isn't a good sign for Military votes to be counted...
Iraq Marine: Troops 'Terrified' of a Kerry Presidency
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/9/28/125438.shtml

U.S. troops on the ground in Iraq are "terrified" at the prospect that Americans back home might elect John Kerry president, a Marine and Iraq veteran who is on his way back to the front lines said Monday.

Asked how Kerry's election would affect troop morale in the combat zone, Lance Cpl. Lawrence Romack told KWEL Midland, Texas, radio host Craig Anderson, "It would destroy it."
"We're pretty terrified of a John Kerry presidency," added Romack, who served with the 1st Marine Tank Battalion in Iraq.

The Iraq war vet said he fears that most of the news coverage is being skewed to make the mission look like a failure in order to give the Kerry campaign a boost.

"What they're trying to do is get Kerry into the White House, because they know he doesn't want us to stay [in Iraq]," he told Anderson.

Asked if Americans back home were getting an accurate picture of what's happening in the war, the Marine corporal said: "No, they're not. It's not even close. All the press wants to report is casualty counts. They don't want to report the progress we're making over there."

Romack noted that in the southern part of the country, Iraqis welcomed U.S. troops when they set up an immunization programs for children, opened schools and began distributing food.

"Almost immediately people were lining up to get their kids shots," he told Anderson.

Contrary to reports that the general population was too afraid to help ferret out insurgents, Romack said, "We had Iraqis pointing out former Baath Party members for us to arrest."

When the KWEL host opened up the phone lines, a member of the 82nd Airborne who had returned from Iraq in March was first on the line.

He agreed with Cpl. Romack that media reports coming out of Iraq were often inaccurate – and sometimes even dangerous.

"The news media – sometimes I felt like I had as much to fear from them as I did the Iraqis," he complained.

I was reading, I cant remember if it was on a website elsewhere or on a thread on here, about how the troops in the field are demoralized and wanting to vote for Kerry. I know of some Dems in uniforn, but most had their belly full of Clinton, and don't want another liberal in charge.

So Hog..You have one post here that talks about the Pentagon not giving the real numbers of troops wounded and evaced out and now this one about Kerry. It really looks to me that the current admin. is where the problem for the troops is. They refuse to let the American public honor those who pay the ultimate sacrifice by hiding their return behind a press blackout and now this. I know these people (the troops) are doing a hell of a job. Why are they being treated otherwise?

Messier11, refering to the the link below as you pointed out me discussing both issue's one for another.
http://www.cigarbid.com/...geDisplay=0000000026692

The Problem is not in our current administration.. this problem has been with every administration for years...

the Buck stops at the congressional level and below that is the Pentagon... do you think Our Top Brass are going to march into the Presidents office with complaints on how the troops are being routed by the system? not a chance in hell... the top brasses job is to keep these troops ready able and willing...

when these troops get injured and go into the System.. then it falls down to Congress to make sure these Veterans are well taken care of then these bills are drawn up and voted on and THEN they might make it to the President to sign... where is the communication breakdown to take care of the troops?
Allot of this lies at the base or location that Troop/Veteran originated from...and from there if they can get through the System and make it further on up to be taken care of properly... they've got a chance at what should be afforded them... it is not that the care isn't there... it's a matter of Chain of Command decissions throughout the process... and many times non of this troop information even makes it to the head chain to be viewed and proper changes made...

at the same time I have listed on here many times about the WMD's and the not finding them.. do you really think nothing was found? or could it be the things found do not want to be made public because as a first hand account to cover up... what is not known as a problem really isn't a problem...

what if say 100,000 troops/veterans that deployed over 1 yrs timeframe developed some kind of unexplained medical issues? who would be footing the bills??

and to think this is an off the wall statement take a look at the Gulf War Illnesses after the first GW...
I can give you links to items of interest that will blow your mind... it will piss you off at your Government...

in February 1991 our military blew up one of Saddam's Ammo Dump Facilities.... the plume was miles high and the aftermath effects from at the time.. not known WMD storage materials spread so far and thick that it was estimated in April 2001 (because it took an act of congress and the push from every veteran organization in the country to cause the act of congress) did an investigation.. why did it take them over 7 yrs to even acknowledge this event? MONEY MONEY MONEY...
this may cut into your Senators and Representatives pockets to have to help pay for this... at the same time.. military budgets and it will cut into the set aside budgets for each unit to have to care for these veterans Have it be the case their illness/injuries were within the Line Of Duty...

I hope this helps you to understand why I post at both Angles of situations... I want to also point out.. I do not agree with everything GWB has done... but to throw my vote for Kerry for a change in the System is totally Immoral in my opinion.... Kerry isn't even a good lier!!!!
