Chief's SIL recently poured him a glass of ZAYA, 12 year-old Guatemalan rum.
I've never cared for rum at all (and I will drink ANYTHING), but this stuff was really something.

I've always been partial to Myers straight up.Bloody Brits(BIOT Police) got me hooked on it in Diego Garcia. For being in the middle of friggin nowhere I had a great time with those Limeys.LOL

Guinness and Myers everynite til the wee hours of the morning. Then we'd get up and do it all over again.

Pyrat Pistol is excellent.

BTW, it's made in Anguila, not Jamaica.

These are the 375ml bottles right? (tall, skinny bottle)

Thanks for the tip on where to pick up a bottle again before it all dissapears once and for all. This was a great rum, but once Patron Sprits acquirred Pyrat, it just didn't seem to sell enough volume for them I guess.

old san juan is cool for a day or two.... see the forts and the shops.... drink in the streets.... then

head accross the island to the resorts and beaches.... eat the food at the little shops on the beaches and get drunk

Check out the rain forrest, check out the beach with the weird electric things in the water that make you light up

I can get more specific if/when you get serious email me and I'll have my wife respond.... she was born and raised there.

sasquatchbreath at yahoo dot com

I can get more specific if you get serious

Ron Zacapa 23 is excellent.

Santa Teresa 1796 is just as good. IMHO.

El Dorado is also very good.

Cruzan Single Barrel not bad.

I've had the Pyrat XO reserve and found it to be a little more citrusy and floral than I like.

I’mma no rum expert but the Cuban version is, hands-down, the best rum I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back to Japan and pick up a few more bottles at the Duty Free shop.

Holy chit! Did a quick search and yes, there are places to buy from but asking for $150-ish per bottle!

It’s been 6-1/2 years since we went to Japan but iirc, it was $50 US when I bought them from the Duty Free shop. Crazy prices now!

Kaniche Reserve tends to be my rum of choice. Tastes like the higher end stuff for less than 25 bucks a bottle.

Took a cruise to Cancun a few years back. Picked up 5-6 bottles in the duty free shop. I may have an unopened bottle of the 7 left. I’ll have to check.
