They might as well make these twice as big. I can't smoke just one.

Agreed, ‘cept I’mma slow smoker so these can go for as long as 40-45 minutes. I used to think the Noella Reserva was close but upon further review, it’s not as intense. Still good and will miss my dwindling box once they’re gone. Crying

81534: Illusione Epernay La Ferme. Last one dated 2018. Only ever had this, some Fume d'Amour and a few Original Documents from Illusione. Upon lighting, there is what I call "varnish" on the lips from the oils of a really well aged cigar. Spicy (cinnamon) along with a floral note and a hint of cedar. Right away you know it will be good, and its a Corojo, yet there is nothing for me that says "buy more". First third has a strong cinnamon note with a mix of salty on the lips. Goes well with my Laphroiag. Really good, but not my wheelhouse, which is why I seldom seem to buy Illusione. Second third is very consistent with the first, cinnamon, less salt on the lips and now a nutty note on the palate. Final third, the cedar note moves to the front with that playful contrast between sweet and salty in the back of the throat. Good, but not my thing. Will have to revisit the Fume d'Amour before trying the 10th Anniversary Epernay.

La nox's are fantastic. I buy them by the box whenever I can but they're hard to find sometimes cause it's no secret how good they are.

81539 Herrera Esteli toro with thanks to jakethesnake. I did pull this from bulk singles so hopefully it's OK. Found a deal on toros for $4per so I gotta try it. I've smoked hundreds of the lonsdale, one of my favorite cigars. But I've never tried it in another size. Don't wanna buy a tenski if its not as good as the cigar I love.

Seems this one has at least a little age based on the cello. I don't think I've ever kept them around long enough to tint the cello either. They've always been a daily driver for me.

This cigar is fantastic. I still prefer the lonsdale but this has all the flavors I love. It's doing HE things that I want. Woody, cedar n spice, sweet cream, rich texture, deep earthy mineral notes, cubanesque is often used in the ad copy for this cigar but it's deserved. Definitely jumping on the $4 tenski deal.

Thank you JTS for this fantastic cigar. It did start to show signs of bring too wet a little past halfway so I left before it turned on me. Took an hour 15 to get here so that was plenty anyhow.

I like this velvety Corojo that is box pressed giving it that leather and lace attitude. Very leathery, smooth, peppery in first third that mellows quickly. There is an herbal flavor in the background that is familiar but I can’t nail it down. Last third I had to keep after it or the cherry would almost go out but the puffing it back to a good burn made it smoke hot and bitter in the last third. At the price points I can get them on CB I think they are a very good cigar.

It's a good cigar. Leathery, rich, sweet. Lots of nice changes to hold my interest as it smokes down. It's not really my favorite profile, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Gonna pass on the box, need to just buy boxes of stuff that wows me.

81553: La Aurora Preferidos Ruby dated 2013. Some sweetness from the Brazilian wrapper plus more cedar, no stronger, maybe hickory notes than I remember. The hickory note mellows to cedar at the first third. Second third is consistent and good, but maybe a little past prime. Final third the cedar becomes very smooth. Different than I remember, the sweetness from the wrapper has melded away, even though it was paired with a fruity Cabarnet. As I am making a conscience effort to ash off all my old cigars, these probably won't make the cut again in the future, unless there is a really good deal.

Edited the number after noticing two 50's

81554 - Warped La Colmena Black Honey
Well it's been about 5 months I think since I got them. The first was excellent but wanted to give it some rest to see how it comes along. With the sale at tenski I figured I'd give it another go just to make sure I want another box. This did not go well. I'll chalk it up to bad construction. While toasting the foot I noticed a small hollow that should have been a tell. I could not keep this lit and it seemed like it was was getting hot about an inch in. Ended up having to cut about 1.5" off and noticed in center of stick ot had a small burn going. Re-lit and still having issues. No issues with any others in the humidor, I'm sitting around 64/65. At last 1/3 it got better. But by then the flavor was shat. Notice lots of void in the center closer to the foot then heading towards outside further on. Guess I'll chalk it up to a bad stick. Will I buy another box? I guess I'll sleep on it. If it's still available tomorrow I'll call it a sign and throw my money at them. If not l, we'll then sane sign that it's not meant to be.
Tenski has Eagles Descent and Chincalle deeply discounted too I'll likely grab those instead.

Number should be right here. Next is 81555

Leebo, have you tried any of the “core” AR blends? Habano or Maduro? Or anything else from AR? Last week I smoked a Quattro which is pretty much my favorite cigar and it didn’t burn well. This was the first experience I’ve had like that with AR.

81564: Macanudo Red Robusto
Mottled Corojo, veiny, kicked off with red and black pepper in the foreground, leather and cedar in the background. First third kept burning canoe style and shaped up last two thirds. Into second third the red pepper was gone, black pepper dissipated significantly replaced with a toasty, nutty and speck of salt flavor that didn’t last long until the black and red pepper returned to replace all other flavors. Last third burned very warm even though I sipped it. It turned bitter halfway into last third and I gave it up. This cigar has a lot of body and smoke. If I wanted to smoke cheap cigars this one would be a contender in the $3 and change category.

81568 Henry Clay LE 2018 perfecto with thanks to jakethesnake. Another cigar I know nothing about.

Plugged right out the gate with a 1/4" clip to both ends of the perfecto. No cold draw. Cut the foot back to the shoulder, extremely tight draw.

Cut the head to the shoulder, extremely tight draw. Lit anyway. Mouth getting a workout but I'm not getting any smoke. Cut the head down to the band, it's only burning on one side of the cigar. Draw still tight. Cut the foot back an inch. One small black tunnel spot in the fresh unlit face. Relit. Same thing. This one's been in my desktop a few weeks, it crunches between my fingers, this is a construction error not mine.

Cut back the foot again now I have a 3" nub cigar. Relit. Draw is normal. Burn line even. Flavors extremely mild light cinnamon cedar spice little bite on retro but not much. The flavors are typical general/ altadis offerings. Did a quick search for these things only seem to find mentions in cigar of the month clubs I don't see any reviews to see if my experience matches others. Add this one as data to reinforce my position that the perfecto is the stupidest cigar shape. More often than not you have to remove the entire taper to smoke the damn things so what's the point in spending the time and material to make the pointy cigars?

This one sucked. Bad construction, minimal flavors. Gonna head downstairs and find something else.

81571 Illusione MK Ultra

Spicy lil fugger for such a tiny cigar. Never had it before, don't really know much about it other than I got em on sale in a fiver and I tend to like illusione. It does only have 3 weeks humidor time. Started off with lots of sharp spice red pepper over cinnamon. Some woody nutty notes followed by cocoa/coffee. Draw is medium and smoke heavy and thick. A bit on the dry side in texture, not my jam. Maybe they just need age. ETA: nope, this one is an Illusione outlier - strong AF intentionally so.

After the ash drop the astringency fell back. It's still not rich and creamy but it's in an acceptable range. More earthy/mineral notes. Very very strong cigar. I've got a full belly and I'm feeling it and I'm only halfway. This is one crazy little cigar.

Bummers.

Would suggest getting the PerfecDraw Tool but iffin’ you don’t get a whole lotta plugged / tight draw smokes, might not be worth the cost. For me it’s been a cigar saver as I had a bunch of Cuban coronas that had draw issues so the tool came in real handy. Even when a cigar’s draw is okay but I want it looser / more open, I’ll take the Tool to help get it where I prefer. Of course ymmv.
