Scientists estimate that the average American eats about one pound of bugs each year.

So MACS doesn't need quite as much of those protein shakes as he thinks.

Those who ride without full faced helmets eat a lot more than that.

I remember hearing you eat about 5 spiders a year because they crawl into your nose while you're sleeping.

Same here. The helmet law was reversed in PA about 20 years ago. If you're over 21 and have a motorcycle license (not just a permit) you don't have to wear a helmet. Though you do have to wear your seat belt in a car by law. More gubment hypocrisy.

They are remaking the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Tom Holland as Frodo. I won't even watch it. Hollywood needs new ideas, not more remakes.

Really? Sheesh, not sure how they’re gonna make it better but I doubt that I’mma gonna watch the remake in either big screen or streaming options.

Fo’ sure Hollywood has run out of fresh, totally original ideas. Iffin’ it’s not a 3rd or 4th remake, it’s the 8th installment / offshoot of a successful franchise like Star Wars, Fast ‘n Furious, etc., etc.

Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage.

This Week in History‏‏‎‎ May 17, 2004

Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage.

Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples hurried to apply for marriage licenses, thanks to a state Supreme Court ruling the previous November. Some paid fees to waive a three-day waiting period. The desire to make their partnerships legal as well as the fear that politicians might take away their right to marry fueled the rush.

Marriage entitles spouses to benefits such as inheritance, hospital-visitation rights and the filing of joint tax returns. Other states followed suit, and in 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act enacted in 1996 was unconstitutional. Today public approval of same-sex marriage is widespread in the U.S.

The average couple will pay $214,000 in Medicare taxes over their working life but receive benefits totaling $635,000.

Of corse this does not include what they may have done with that money iffn they didn't pay taxes up front.

Heard about this a few days ago. Regarding the owner of the old AWA (American Wrestling Association), Verne Gagne.

Things can go south if you're in a nursing home, and know killer wrestling moves.

On January 26, 2009, Gagne got into an altercation with Helmut Gutmann, a 97-year-old resident of the Bloomington, Minnesota nursing care facility where they both resided. According to Gutmann's widow, who was not present during the altercation, Gagne picked Gutmann up and threw him to the floor, then broke his hip by pulling back on his body. "'The attack happened quickly while the men were at a table', Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said. 'It was more like "a push and a shove" and it caused Gutmann to fall.'"[20] Neither man had any recollection of the incident.[21] Gutmann was admitted to the hospital, and died on February 14 from complications of the injury.[22] On February 25, 2009, the older man's death was officially ruled a homicide by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.[21] On March 12, 2009, the Hennepin County Prosecutor's office officially announced that Gagne would not be criminally charged as a result of the death as, because of Gagne's dementia, he lacked the mental capacity necessary to be criminally culpable.[23]

I’ll take that a step farther by saying government has ABSOLUTELY no business regulating personal relationships at all. Not everyone will agree with everyone else’s choices. But, I’ve always subscribed to the idea that one person’s rights end where another person’s rights begin.

It’s undeniable that the basis of many morality based laws, or lack thereof, is religion. It is also undeniable that our country was also founded by by strong followers of the Christian faith. Yet, it is equally undeniable that those believers SPECIFICALLY stated:

Quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

So it would seem any law based on what may or not be covered in the Bible would be a law reflecting an establishment of religion.

As such to allow benefits of marriage to one another a couple composed of a man and a women but to deny those benefits to a same-sex couple is a prima facia example of a) a law based on religion and b) a violation of equal protection.

Doesn’t mean I’ll always agree with everything but it’s what I swore to protect both as a military inductee and as a law enforcement office.

The current interest rate many 401(k) borrowers are now required to pay themselves when taking out a retirement-plan loan, better than what they would get on many other types of loans.

The NCAA will also allow schools to pay athletes up to $20 million a year, breaking with its century-old stance that they’re amateurs and therefore can’t share in the money they generate for their universities.

Having multiple anuses, a condition known as "diprosopus," is extremely rare in humans. Diprosopus is a congenital disorder where an individual is born with duplicated facial features, including the mouth and nose, and it can sometimes involve duplication of other structures such as the anus. However, this condition is exceedingly rare and typically associated with severe birth defects.

For accurate and detailed medical information about specific conditions or disorders, it's best to consult with a qualified medical professional or refer to reputable medical resources.

Our neighborhood had a food truck and a desert truck event. The desert truck sale freeze dried candy, ice cream and other sweet treats. Strange crispy crunchy textures that were enjoyable.
