I've started to go down a rabbit hole the past few days triggered by the connection that happened in my brain that old Camacho corojo and Aladino corojo were from same dudes and I loved both. Then yesterday had the warped la Hacienda and it reminded me of another favorite cigar - illusione epernay. Both in a cuban profile.
I want to delve deeper down this line. Looks like Casa Fernandez, guardian of thr farm, JFR, and the Aganorsa Leaf brands are owned by the farm, but what lines or other cigars should I seek with similar backgrounds especially compared to Epernay and LA Hacienda? |

I liked the Casa Fernandez and JFR but I'm leery of trying others. The Nica Libre really sucked for me but somebody else here liked it. |

Ahh the Camacho Corojo Churchill. Used to be my daily go to when Eiroa owned the brand. |

Many of the major cigar makers are using Aganorsa baccy these days. Some of my favorite blends from Warped, Carrillo and Padron are customers and the reason is 100% of the crop is Cuban seed and they have employed Cuban agronomists to grow and process the crops.
While they are employing the Cuban methods, the soil composition in Nicaragua is not the same and I can't say I find any Cuban "twang" in their cigars.
I always wondered if the chemical make up of Cuban soils could be duplicated in another country via amendments. |

But I'm also not as well calibrated as you. Get your hands on an aged Warped Sky Flower. I sent one to delta last year in the blind trades and he picked it as Cuban. Al has a pretty good palate with experience in the Cuban profile. |

If you haven't tried the Arganorsa Rare Leaf, I do recommend. Not a huge fan of the large (54) ring guage (just bought a box of the new lonsdales though, eager to try them) but if found them pretty enjoyable and available at decent discounts from time to time at the tenski place. |

Warped's La Colmena Amado No. 44 has a profile that most could not distinguish from an habano, but they're about $16.00 for a 5 x 44. Any Casa Fernandez you may find is old stock as Aganorsa has retired the Casa Fernandez branding. As I mentioned in another thread the Gurkha Nicarguan is totalamente Aganorsa. I've heard a rumor, but haven't scouted it out myself, as yet, that a very famous cigar retailer has an excellent sale on an HVC five pack sampler, which I believe is all Aganorsa. |

It is true and I have availed myself of it (the small place). The FED place also has HVC on a small sale. Nice to see you again by the way.  |

I've been loving on Warped lately. HVC I can only find full price, or on sale at places that get me with the 37% indiana cigar tax. I've smoked one or two HVCs from other people. |

La Colmena are pretty regularly (like....currently at the tenaki place..) available for approximately $10. Great value at that price. I'm also a fan of the Aganorsa Rare Leaf too, often on sale at the same location. |
