WHATS EVERYONES WORST CIGAR
151. Author: gummy jonesDate: Sun, 3/5/2017, 9:37AM EST
My worst ever cigar was a gift from another brother. It was a nice gesture and I won't list what it was but between the miserable taste and world record worst construction I literally couldn't make it half way.

That's the only thing I like from Alec Bradley... maybe Mundial (it was alright, only had one that someone gifted).

I agree though, they do require a couple mL of butane.

I think the worst for me was the Don Tomas maduro that made CA's top 25 back in 2004. I was just getting into hand rolled cigars at the time. I think I paid $3 for that smoke. I was so pîssed.

Next to that was the Gurkha Grand Reserve Perfecto 5pk I bought shortly after from a competitor's website. I was all excited five smokes that were reduced from $225 for $25. Infused with Louis cognac. For a newb I thought I really had something. I almost wish I still had those but I gave them to my cousin who lost them when his humidor molded over.

Those memories were awesome! They were real learning experiences; kinda like when you're at the strip club for the first time and all excited when the stripper licks on your nipples.

Once you get older you realise that just like the cigars they're really just sacks of filth that only want to take your money and give you a cheap unfulfilling ride.

I actually liked those ok. It was one of very few sub $4 B&M cigar that could count on not sucking. I always felt compelled to buy something when I went into a store....and that was one that I often came out with.

Maybe it was just a bad stick then because as soon as I lit it up I felt remorse.

Didn't they come in a ten pack which arrived in a plastic case? If I am thinking about the same cigar, they were pretty inexpensive on cbid. They had draw issues from time to time and were definitely a yard cigar, not to bad for the price (cbid price).

Some Indian Tobac products were good sticks for the price point; Never really enjoyed most of the 5Vegas (The Pepin Miami being a notable exception) line or the Puros Indios products.

Only 5 Vegas that is any good (consistently) is the aaa and it is a diamond in the rough at that price point imo

Will keep that in mind, though I have not smoked a 5Vegas in years; that is I still have some of the original Miami cigars but nothing recent. By the way does anyone know who blends the" new" Miami 5Vegas? Are they any good?

I think the elephant logo cigar is called, "Pata de Elephante". Which means elephant foot. I have one that came in a grab bag from one of the other two companies that share a warehouse with cbid. I'm too afraid to smoke it

AB Tempest and just about every no-name "house gar" found in the B&Ms. I guess they sell them so people can take them apart and roll "blunts" but haven't found one yet that was smokable

PI's were da bomb back in the 90's.
Old man RR senior knew how to rock and roll.

Junior, not so much.
And I don't care what anyone says, it was junior rolling his dad's smokes when things went south.

S T Dupont robusto. I bought a box of these years ago from JR''s and it was the worst cigar I ever smoked at any price. The only saving grace was the box was a killer 25 count mini humidor which I still use today.

I had a random unbanded cigar that I got 8 years ago that was horrific. Same day I tried a Por Larranga (non-CC) that was about the same age and was disgusting as well. I feel bad that I gave some of those away to people a long time ago.

Q,
I think you may be confused.
5 Vegas does have a "Miami", but I don't think it was rolled by Pepin.
The "Pepin rolled" Padilla Miami 8 & 11 is probably what you are thinking of . . . and if you have any of THOSE, we need to talk !

Gurkha anything.

I was on a quest for the best budget cigars for a while.

Realized you gotta pay to play. And not pay Gurkha msrp, but buy quality cigars.

Wasted a lot of money on them, only to be disappointed by every single one. Occasionally I'd get a good one in a sampler or something, but then I'd buy that one again, and it would be crap.

Of all the money I wasted on trying to find a good cheap cigar, Gurkha takes the cake for the most dollars spent. Their advertising worked on me for a while. Now I know better.

Likewise Gurkha for me as well.
Won a mazo of Gurkha "War? Something or other" here and they were just garbage, unsmokeable.
Never tried again, never will.

Managed to find a couple of decent yard gars here but all have been discontinued save one. That one is now going for 40+ for a mazo of 20 so, not likely to buy them again either unless the price goes back down to $19.

Mainly buying better quality gars now when I can get them on sale which is pretty often.

Jespear perhaps I was mislead, but I remember the original Vegas 5 Miami having a buzz, back in the day, concerning being of the house of Pepin on some level (I acknowledge misinformation travels fast sometimes.). No doubt about Padilla, in fact I might still have a few of those red and black banded Miami bueaties somewhere.

I have no information about Miami Vegas today and acknowledge the possibility of being given the wrong information on the original. I will say that the original line had a Pepin or AJ Fern. kind of flavor to them, though I did not confirm the buzz.
