Hi, I'm David, and have been smoking cigars for over 10 years. I average 2 to 3 per day, so I guess you could say that I've ashed close to 10,000 cigars. Some of my favorites are La Palina, Liga, My Father (heck, anything blended by Pepin), Crowned Heads, Fuente, Padron and LFD. Some of my everyday cheapies would be 601 (all), UC 2nds, UC Shade 2nds, Punch, Pete Johnson bundles (El Suelo, Trocadero), Perdamo, Torano, Nica Rustica, Kristoff, La Aurora, CAO, etc.

I'm currently between jobs, and am working full time renovating my current home, in order to sell it. Once I'm done with this one (hopefully by May), I have my new home in the NC mountains to totally renovate.

I know many of the members here, and have enjoyed a cigar or two with several. Others have felt the pain of my bombs.

Now to the important stuff.

Pancakes or Waffles? Neither. I'm gluten intolerant.

Camping? Yes, but with my wife only. Even though Jamie and I have sent each other cigars, I would NEVER go camping with him, and sure as h*ll would never get into his van. Oh, and the cigars he sends me get soaked in Bourbon, Rye, or Scotch before I dare place them in my mouth.

Thonginator? - I saw it once, and the image to this day is still burned into my retina.

Jade? Nope, never sent Jade a cigar. Why? I really don't know.

Precious Metal Membership? Yes, since 2010! (Disclaimer, we all know that no such thing exists, and is only used by the fogs to tease the noobs).

Oh, and the most important thing. I BUY/WIN MY CIGARS FOR FAR LESS THAN ANY OF YOU!!! It's not up for discussion or debate. It's a FACT! Deal with it.

Hi David,

Welcome!
You should order a bunch of ceegars right now, since auctions are easily won lately due to the systems "up"grade.

Welcome back... sorry I doubted you were real in the other thread re: KOTC bomb. Still can't thank you enough for the La Perla Habana Morados. Honestly, we were saying RIP so many times with your name attached, some of us thought you were really dead.

Long live DPN!!!

Hank? Oh, you must be referring to that loser over in General Discussions, playing the old "should I stay or should I go" game. I've seen that played a dozen times on these boards, and most of the time, we just tell them to go.

If he's really a good guy, then I'll apologize for calling him a loser, but first impressions are a b*tch, and I call them as I see them.

I can assure you that I am the real deal. Those who know me will vouch for the photo in my avatar.

Ha, ha. Funny as always. The upgrade problem is well known throughout the cigar community. I'll be waiting until things are back to normal before placing any "low ball" bids. Though I did hear that La Palina Goldies where going for $2 a pop, lol.

Hey Delta, thanks for the welcome. I just checked my cooler, and I have 3 toros, 3 torps and 4 robs of the '07s left. They are like gold. My departure, and 3 year exile where not of my choosing. Hopefully this account will stay open, as I'm not posting ANYTHING that will anger the powers that be. I just want to discuss cigars with old friends, and hopefully restock some of my long gone favorites, that I can only get here.

A poodle? Come on Joel, my brother, both in Christ, and in the leaf. Have faith. The avatar was my massive 165 lb. Rottweiler by the name of Argus Angus Von Grizzly Bear (RIP). This time I was going to use my dearly departed 250 lb. English Mastiff, but decided to use the real me instead. Yes, I know, the dog would have been a lot easier on the eyes.

Welcome (back)! Your current name is a bit lengthy. From some of the forum rumors, I infer "DP" stood for "Double Penetration." Do you mind if we call you Spitroast going forward?

#33 Legend? Maybe the sun has fried my brain today, but what could you do on here that is even remotely legendary? I'm thinking more along the lines of mountain peaks, trophy deer/fish as something "epic" or "legendary"

Isn't this just the place where Keyboard Commandos go to do commando stuff?

I would love to hear your response. LOL Make sure to take your heart pills before you get all worked up.

And dad, I especially look forward to hearing from you.

First, don't call me dad on here... makes me feel old...

As to your question, what can one do to be legendary around here, oh i don't know, maybe routinely score premium cigars at dog rocket prices to the point that you open your own successful bidding university, only to have the moderators of a discount cigar forum beat you to (almost) death with socks full of pirate's gold and raji's demise... maybe that... and also get "Ron Mexico is my hero" involuntarily tattooed on your buttocks...

Alright, that's pretty epic, qualifies as legendary if true.

Hey Rick. Nice to meet you. Hope things are well with you and yours.

As I side note, some of my best wins where after I was banned. Here's just a little taste. Several Perdomo sampler lots consisting of 1 Champagne, 1 Grand Cru, 1 Habano CT, 1 Lot 23 Nat, and a $35 Bugatti dual torch lighter, for $5.01 ea. So, did I pay $1 a piece for the cigars, and $1.01 for the lighters, or was it $5.01 for the lighters, and the cigars where free, lol?

As far as teaching you a thing or two, well it takes work, following all the auctions, searching for undervalued lots, watching for specials on the different cigar boards out there, finding discount codes, taking advantage of Groupon and Ebate, and tons and tons of pure luck. Sadly, for the past several months, the insane deals I rely on, have pretty much dried up.

Sounds like too much work. I know a lot of women who do the whole coupon thing... meh, time is more important to me :)

I usually just snap up on deals when they pop up for things I like, or if I'm filling up, just find decent deals for what I want... not necessarily the best possible, but I end up with what I want at a decent price.

Anyway, your scores are legendary, and I won't even attempt to compete with you in the frugal department.

Some of my recent scores:

6 Padron FR #44 for ~ $13 a piece
Those house Padrons at the other place, good deal for 1926 (they're good).
The MB3 Deal is always a good deal IMO.
Random LFD/LGs at the other place for a decent price
Melanios Robustos for just over $5 a piece
Melanio Figurado for $7 something a piece

Not the best deals, but decent for me.

Oh, one of the best deals I got of all time that I don't know if it's still attainable....

AF Mag R44 for ~ $2.84 a piece (got a couple boxes at that price).
