New Englander, born and raised.
Grew up thinking how tough we were when it came to weather.
But the older I get I take more notice to all the moaning and whining about snow and cold.

So we were supposed to get whacked with a Nor 'Easter today.
Meh.

Nothing but hours and days of trepidation.
Finally, you accept the inevitable and accept it with a grin.
But when it's all over you realize that it wasn't as advertised. Not even close. Much ado about nothing.
Just some wet slop and not nearly as many inches as predicted.

Then it hit me:
This must be what every date I ever had felt like.

Glad it wasn't as bad as predicted...luckily, we in SoCal didn't get the drenching the forecasts said, either...NorCal took the brunt of the Pineapple Express, which in 3-4 months dropped enough water and snow in the Sierras to wipe out the 4-5 year drought. Unfortunately, flooded some areas, caused land/mud slides and damaged some dams.

Currently 91 degrees in Temecula, with a prediction of Mid-80's the rest of the week.

Excellent weather for fishing... unless you're on my boat, which seems to repel the fish. d'oh!

It's okay. That will eventually change, and when it does I predict an epic day!! fog

23 inches was the final measurement. Snowblower having a hard time dealing with it. Will finish up the clearing tomorrow.

I don't even drink champagne. Can I break a bottle of beer on it, instead? Wait!! Miller High Life! The champagne of beers!

Brilliant! I wouldn't want to waste a good beer.

Absolutely!! If you ship the ladies a case of good beer I'd damn near guarantee fast delivery of your shipments.

Victor sends cupcakes and sometimes he gets his orders before he ever bids. True story, bro.

..that's bloody brilliant.

But wait, beer?

Is that the proper pairing for cupcakes?
I'd think a good German Riesling would be more in order.
...hmmmm.

Kids/Wife had their first snow day of the year yesterday...although it really wasn't too terrible here...I think they cancelled more because of incoming snow that didn't even happen. Hopefully no more snow days...fingers crossed.

Felger and Mazz guy, eh?

down here about 12 miles south of Boston we were spared the worst. I left work yesterday (we closed) around 12:30 and conditions were brutal...heavy, wet, wind driven snow, almost white-out driving conditions, but maybe 8 or 9 inches accumulation by the end.

The bad part was this morning. After a flash freeze last night my plow guy (20+ years without incident) became incommunicado on his way here. Never heard from him again, never heard from his wife, kinda worried.

Got my mechanic up here a little while ago and he did what he could to plow the 2 driveways. I finished chopping and scraping the rest with the help of sunshine...but I'll probably work from home this afternoon. Giving my old back a rest.

to the op...date and nut bread, try it with cream cheese.
