Window unit would be the obvious choice unless said room has no window so, I'll assume that's the case. I'm pretty sure I've seen some small freestanding units at Lowes but they would still require a drain and an exhaust vent. Ideally you would want a split system but, not inexpensive.

I have a Haier CPF10XCL-LW 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner I use to cool my garage. I found a refurbished unit for $179 at newer.com. it works very well, it does require an exhaust connection. It comes with a window adapter, however I installed the vent in my garage door.

Amazon and Costco has them on sale, but Newegg sells refurbished units, mine appeared to be new and worked fine.
