I think it was Wayfair, packaging it in a nice decorative box that looks like a book. They'll be shipped inside a beautiful bookshelf.

Ikea tried to get in on the deal but it fell apart....

Get to know WAYFAIR!!!

According to frankj1....

"DIMENSIONAL WEIGHT" increases shipping costs.

But
@ WAYFAIR ...They use BOOKSHELVES "as their boxes"...and in "WAYFAIR-WORLD" theY fold time and space by using WORMHOLE SHIPPING TECHNOLOGY...

The SIG they chose is modular, they can change out compact, mid sized or full sized grip frame on the same serialized internal frame. It is what the Army asked for and SIG delivered. Basically, it fits more hands better than a single size pistol like the Glock 19.

I like the Sigs........big fan of the 226.That being said the downfall of this decision is the modularity of the 320.You do not issue a weapon with this many options to general troops........maybe specops but not Joe Blow Infantryman.Guarenteed they'll **** this up.I'm with Gummy......the G19 would've been a better overall choice.

I hear what you are saying, I too am a fan of plain vanilla. I suspect only an armorer will be allowed to modify anything. That doesn't preclude aftermarket parts. I di know during our son's time in Iraq families were gathering and sending genuine Beretta and Mecgar 92 magazine to replace failing low bid replacement magazines supplied by the Army.

Yea it's the aftermarket stuff that will be the problem, improperly modified weapons, just jackasses in general that cannot leave their weapon alone.I used to carry an M4 daily,I was responsible for training a team of guys who carried that same weapon plus a couple larger sprayers and sidearms.I confiscated dozens of non issue magazines, some sub standard mags that caused multiple fail to feed situations.I even took close to 500 rounds of hollowpoint ammo off one guy.........mommy sent it,she wanted Little Nicky to have a combat advantage. We ran some of this ammo through various weapons.........a few misfires and several stove pipes, not a good combat situation. There is a reason why issued weapons are required to remain in the state issued and issued ammo is all that's fed in them.

Like the previous Beretta service weapon, they will be manufactured in the US.

For you Glock fan boys, they too are manufactured in the USA. horse

increased modularity = increased inventory = increased cost

as a primary service pistol, almost no one will prefer the compact
they should have decided on mid or full sized as standard and only had to stock a single magazine

^^^ MAYBE ??? There will be some...but they will probably sell them to a third world country allied with the U.S. Military, IF history repeats itself...

Ohhhh the 1980-90's ....when you could buy all types of military surplus from all over the world...packed in cosmolene grease...in wooden crates..for $22-35
Bucks for German and Turkish mauser 98's,
Moison Nagats, British 303's,
Chinese and Russian SKS's wholesaled @ $48-58
In crates...**** AMMO FROM RUSSIA WAS DIRT CHEAP TOO...THE smart old guys would buy
Tractor trailers or shipping containers filled solid
With all these weapons and ammo and park the crates in warehouses in seaport cities...Baltimore ,Norfolk , Philly, Boston...Christ there were so
Many guns in warehouses it looked like those movie scenes in INDIANA JONES with boxes to the ceilings
In Govt. Storage...but it was in private hands

Most likely yes..........lots of them over the next few years will make it to market.I personally was not a fan but if I could pick one up for $150-175 I'd jump on it just for a momento of my service.Just not worth anymore than that to me.I have a $100 gubmint model(rattle trap)made in the 40's,my first issue service weapon momento.
