I didn't see a thread on this, but if there is, my apologies.

What is the worst cigar you have ever smoked?

Mine: Dark Shark - Bought a box for like $10 once just to see if they were really as bad as people said. They were worse than expected. Literally tasted like I was smoking a rolled up toilet paper roll. I don't think I would pay a dollar for another box of these...unless I bought them for the sole purpose of giving to people that know nothing about cigars to see if they say it is good. Told a friend once that the Dark Shark was a Cuban and they said they loved it. Cracked me up.

Pirates Gold were pretty bad too.

Any big brand sticks that you thought were disgusting?

RPR4...dunno if they're still made; it was a very long time ago...but for context, that R4 was so terrible....and I was even buying Flor del Todo bundles back then

Maybe I need to learn how to search better..haha. Not sure how my search didn't bring these up.

I have also tried the R4 and thought it was pretty terrible.

As posted in one of those other threads, the Acid Nasty lives up to its name. Absolutely terrible. The only Acid that I at least sort of like is the Acid One.

No worries...the resident 'search' tool sucks balls....I don't think Acids are enough like 'regular' cigars to even be mentioned in this conversation. I was gifted a Blondie once by a good friend and felt obligated to try it.....six years later and I still can clearly remember that perfumy/potpouri-y nastiness that lingered in my mouth and nose for hours....horrible, horrible experience

Tie between a tomsuqs house toro and a fake cuban.
The toro I smoked for 5-10 minutes, then tossed, and wished I quit MUCH sooner.
The fake Cuban I ditched after 3 puffs, and wished I'd never even lit it.

Rocky Patel Edge that I'm pretty sure was constructed out of dried tar pressed into leaf shapes and glued together with maduro dye. Oozed goo and turned my fingers black.

Runners up include a grand habano made out of twigs and brambles, a massive 7x70 log rolled custom out of what must have been a Dominican legal pad, and countless plugged ccs.

That is weird about the Edge. I love their Maduros especially the Batallion and Torpedo sizes. Was it the cigar in general you don't like or that specific stick?

Nasty when new, but give them several years of humidor time and then try again. You might be pleasantly surprised. I was.

5 Vegas Gold maduro cannot be on this list.

A cigar has to be able to burn to have an opinion on it.

A fake Cuban my SIL picked up in the Caribbean. Beyond wretched. Fouled my taste buds for a few days.

Worst ever that passed for a cigar was a rolled-while-you-watch turd in Mexico

Worst from at least a semi-legit manufacturer is the Drew Estate "VB" blendlab which is a slightly different version of one of the ACIDs

Worst I ever had was a farm rolled little cheroot brought back to me from Puerto Rico by a guy I knew. He said the dude was selling them in the lobby of his hotel, thought they were great. Tasted like what you would imagine rolled up garbage in newspaper and set on fire might be like. Utterly foul. Still makes me laugh that the guy liked them. LOL

There were two that stand out in my mind from several years back. The Blenders Gold maduro. A bundle sold at Walgreens. Almost gave up on cigars as a noob. The other was at a Partagas event at a Smoke shop in Miami. The Partagas Black had just come out. Just terrible. Foul taste and couldn't even burn right.

A Garcia y Vega entubo that I bought for $3.50 at a tackle-shop near June Lake. It burned hot, tasted harsh, and after three puffs, burned open a hole in the side at about an inch and a half from the top, where the smoke seeped out.

Worst "real" cigars: Blue Label B2 bundle smokes (wouldn't stay lit but tasted so bad I stopped trying to relight it after it went out twice); and Graycliff Professionale, which is the only cigar I've had that was so foul tasting I had to cut it open after a few puffs, just to see if there was some real horse**** blended in.

Does stopping after only a few puffs really count as "smoked"?
