Over the course of many moons, I've heard repeatedly on these boards about the death of the GOP.
We heard it when Obama was elected.
We heard it again when he was reelected.
Again during the primaries (and the 142 candidates)
And most recently again leading up to the election.

If the GOP keeps dying, pretty soon the whole country will be conservative.

*and by "conservative" I mean "2016 feel-good, bordering on socialism, pseudo-conservative."

so the GOP is not dead due to a non-political total outsider sauntering in, stealing the entire party, rejecting all they have been selling, and blowing away everyone they put on stage (17 highly qualified examples of the real Republican ideal)?

A guy who ran as a Republican in name only, while every Republican leader/elected official disowned him?
That guy saved the GOP?

Too funny.

I've read repeatedly right here that Trump was really the Third Party candidate. Looks like what really happened is he stole your party's name...claiming he is now one of yours is like claiming NC Cohibas are from the Cuban brand.

The GOP lives in name only, but it is not your father's GOP, not even your father's sons' GOP.

Wait until he needs to spend brazillians of dollars to rebuild that infrastructure the Dems keep wanting to do...you know, to create jobs and stuff with tax money.

Then he will have completed the process of buying out both major political parties...which may not be so bad after all!

I hate to say it, but Michael Moore called it. We the people voted for Trump because middle class America is tired of being f***ed over by the established politicians on both sides of the aisle.

He said, and I quote: "On Nov. 8, the dispossessed will walk into the voting booth … and put a big f---ing X in the box next to the name of the man who has threatened to upend and overturn the very system that ruined their lives: Donald J. Trump."

He also said: "Trump's victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him." and "What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren't paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew."

Probably the only time I ever agreed with this guy.

To be fair, trump isn't really a Republican, so all bets are off based on prior experience with a stacked house &senate....

May get free trump-phones for everyone.

didn't know about Moore, but yeah, this was the anti Republican walking in and saying "your services are no longer needed" to the GOP lineup.

"You're fired" comes to mind!

Way to stay on point, son.

I'm not claiming that it's a good thing, or a bad thing.
Simply that the GOP ain't dead.

I'll send pictures next time.

So now Trump isn't republican.

So I guess the republicans technically didn't win.

LOL!

Next we'll hear how your fingers were crossed so the election didn't count.

Religion influencing policy in government?
"You're Fired!"
I wish.

Separation of church and state?
"You're hired!"
I wish.

Seriously, if the big orange tic-tac somehow reduces
the influence of religious conservatism in the republican
party, hallelujah!
Freedom for all, the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness
for all. Pretty sure that includes gay people.

Skippy, save your crayons for those currently throwing tantrums throughout the U.S.

Also, you may want to add a supply of pacifiers.
