Tig was what I tried first, so when I bought my own machine last year I made sure to get one for TIG. The welder I bought does MIG, TIG, and Stick, but I haven't even tried the MIG or Stick yet. There's still a lot for me to learn about TIG before I move on!
A few years back I had a project for Red Wing Shoes, needed to build a shelf entirely out of wrenches but had no welding equipment. Ended up in the Solar Car shop at MIT during a school break. They had a massive Lincoln that, honestly, didn't like me. That machine and I were not friendly at all. I had never tried a Miller before I bought one, an oversight that didn't hit me until well after the purchase, but I've been real happy so far.
I have noticed the lack of Lincolns around here; mostly I see Esab, Hobart, and the big blue Millers.
