In a little while from now

If I’m not feeling any less sour

I promise myself to treat myself

And visit a nearby tower

And climbing to the top will throw myself off

In an effort to make it clear to who

Ever what it’s like when you’re shattered

Left standing in the lurch at a church

Where people saying "My God, that’s tough

She's stood him up

No point in us remaining

We may as well go home"

As I did on my own

Alone again, naturally

Too bad that's not a real billboard. It would show that the opinion displayed is popular enough that they would have the money to advertise on a billboard.

"...My own feeling that when once a certain class of people has been placed by the temporal and spiritual authorities outside the ranks of those whose life has value, then nothing comes more naturally to men than murder. As soon as men know that they can kill without fear of punishment or blame, they kill; or at least they encourage killers with approving smiles. If anyone happens to feel a slight distaste to begin with, he keeps quiet and he soon begins to suppress it for fear of seeming unmanly. People get carried away by a sort of intoxication which is irresistable without a fortitude of soul which I am bound to consider exceptional since I have met with it nowhere..."

No, Rick you're not alone. I dunno if I'm right or left or neither. I can see the arguements for and against and I'm pulled both directions. I wish I was smart enough to know for sure if this war solve more problems then it may causes. It's getting pretty scary.

"For my friends on the left"? Does this imply that you have no friends on the right? RIght, Left... blah, blah, blah... who cares? There is no more validity to your supposed peace above all else self-righteousness, than there is to anyone's macho "lets rule the world" bs. There is no black and white issue here. Most reasonable people would celebrate the peaceful return of our armies. Yet, there are powerful debates for opposing regimes like Iraqs, or Korea, or extremists like bin laden. Why not try and fathom the grey areas instead of the knee jerk left and rights? When confronting these issues I usually end-up thinking about the Byrds song "Turn... It's only my opinion, but I prefer it to the extremes which only lead us into more confrontational situations and communication.

Rick, that's an old carpenters rule, "measure twice, cut once". There's another old carpenters rule... "If it doesn't fit, FORCE IT! If it breaks, it needed to be replaced..." BOMB UM!

heh, seriously though folks, we can debate the unpleasentries, and the humanity of such a decision till the cows come home. There are those like me, who bang the war drum loudly, and those on the other side, the give peace a chance crowd. At this point, it's all academic. Soon it will all be over, but how's this for a theoretical scenario, and believe me, it's not far fetched... You know that "pneumonia" that's been on the news the last couple of daze? well, maybe it's nature, and "maybe" it's nurture... They have some pretty nasty $hit growing in test tubes in labs right now. You know it, everybody knows it. So how does your sentiment change if something like that gets released on our population? The small pox could kill many thousands of people before we inoculated, would any of you change your position if something like that happened? Do you want to wait? If so how long? Looking for a mushroom cloud on the horizon before you consider other techniques that "oh pleeeease won't you disarm?" don’t kid yourselves. It’s coming if we don’t stop it, and maybe even still if we try. There are MANY around the world who HATE us. So why do they hate us (anticipating the question Rick and others). Oh, so is your point that if we’d only turn our backs on Israel and do whatever the hell else they want us to do, that they’ll just go away? Wrong Jerky boy! These killers are raised from birth to hate us and to kill us and they’ll do so at the first opportunity en-masse. They’ll look for the excuse of the day when they do so. If we don’t act now? Then when? After 10’s of thousands or perhaps hundreds of thousands or even millions of our friends and family are dead and buried? I for one support the doctrine of pre-emption. If you know someone is about to hit you, you can run, defend yourself, or stand there and do nothing like France. I and 75% of the American people say “bring it on, and you’ll be VERY sorry you did”…

I think if you asked our Military Personal when they should be brought back home, their reply would be, "After they have kicked some Iraqi ass and Sadam is sucking his own chemical weapons"
