My father is in a rest home in Santa Barbara, Ca.

My wife Patty & I are very active in relations with many of the residence there.

We met this Man, "Sam Harvey", he is an imigrant from a country in Africa.

He came to the US about 50 yrs ago. He soon became an American Citizen.

He put himself through college, and eventually became a college professor himself. There is a lot more in between those years but I dont know the specifics.

One of his hobbies is art. This beautiful painting he created over 25 yrs ago. He is a very patriotic man!

He has no family. The rest home allowed him to store a few items there. This is one of them. I was lucky enough to see this in person, and just happened to have my camera!

The director of the home was so impressed with this painting, that he contacted the right people to get some press on it!

Now, this painting has been chosen to be a patriotic piece of artwork among others, to be placed in a memorial of some type for the victims of 9/11.

The beauty of this creation does not show in this pic due to restictions of file size, but believe me it is awesome! It is also taller than me! At the bottom of the paiting is the US, it has memorable moments in history painted in, the launching of appolo, the discivery of the atom, the civil war, there are others!

Sorry to ramble, but I was so impressed with it I had to share it with you all! I have High resolution files of this. If you would like one, e-mail me at Magnafide(at)aol.com and I'll send one to you. If you have a good photo printer they come out nice!

There are some people that were born here that show far less respect for this country than he does! I'm glad that he created this art for others to enjoy, and perhaps inspire others to understand that this is a great nation and not the "Great Satan"!
