Ok some of you have been following some of my posts on BS happening in our little community... This one was a legit question from me that I received clarification on from a Chicago Gaming Board Attorney a few minutes ago VIA returned phone call. The Illinois Gaming Law reads... a Gaming facility cannot be within 100 ft. of a School or place of worship.

SO back in January 22 a new gaming facility was given a liquor and gaming license. and have been running business. this makes 7 gaming establishments in a population of 1100 give or take. and 8 churches that have been well established for as long as I can remember?

Now a Long time established bar owner's question is, how can the city allow a Church to move into an adjoining building (sharing brick and Morter) that has gaming right next door and her place of business as well is within 100 ft of this new church going in?

The Chicago Gaming Attorney state's that If the Gaming License was issued and established before the new place of worship then it is perfectly fine for them to do so?

This is the Ironic part. he used dates of the actual event Say in January a Gaming License was issued and the business is up and running. Then a Place of Worship decides to open up beside the Gaming establishment this is perfectly fine because the Gaming Commission is not going to push the issue?

SO I contacted the bar owner and relayed the findings to her question. well part of it. She say's No Rusty that is fine that the State does not care about that issue, her Issue Is... If for some reason she would get sick or something were to happen that she would have to sell her Bar, Then she would not be able to sell do to a Church being Established within that 100 Ft Law for the new owners to open and keep as a Bar and hold Gaming?

I Called the Man back with this question and he diverted it into her contacting a Lawyer he could not and would not put an answer to the question... WTF!!!

Oh and then He said he could not Talk to me any further because I was not the owner of the establishment in question. so I said Ok so then I'll give her your number and she can call you with this question, He says NO she can reach out the the company who supply's the gaming and ask them and their legal staff.. I'm like wtf? a question that never damned on these smart MF's who put the damn laws together and they wanna go all legal and **** to cover their ass's?

In my Eye's and other community members this in itself is a Double Standard?? d'oh! d'oh! Brick wall Brick wall

Two questions
1) What is the actual problem ?
2) Why are you involved?
