CAMACHO PRE-EMBARGO cigar question

Can anyone help me answer a question about CAMACHO’S PRE-EMBARGO cigars?

I’ve been buying these pre-embargo’s for a long time now, and as years go by I can’t help looking back at the many many of these cigars that I’ve smoked the more suspicious I become of their claims of what they are selling.

When they say they’re making these using the last, dare I say lost bundle of Cuban tobacco before it became illegal. I admit I haven’t the slightest clue as to how big a average bundle of tobacco is, or more specifically how many toro’s one can make.

I alone have smoked over a thousand. Unless this long lost bundle weighs a ton or I’m one of only a few out there smoking these…. I can’t believe they are being truthful.

Can camacho get away with making an ungodly amount of 6x48 cigars by using 1/2 of a single leaf off this bundle so they can sell it at a ultra premium price and technically not be lying about the other 99.9% is not from Cuba?

Ever see the movie "Hot Tub Time Machine"?

Well, they have it now.

Don't believe me though. Call 'em. I'll give you the Platinum Member concierge front desk number. Call 248-434-5508. Use my moniker and explain your case. Membership has its privileges.

There is supposedly real pre-embargo Cuban tobacco in each stick, but the question is about how much? They’ve been selling them for years and would’ve run out long ago if they used much of it in the process. I’ve seen one review claiming they put one tiny piece in, about the size of a quarter, which makes their claim of using “real pre-embargo Cuban tobacco” legit. I’m only surprised it wasn’t Gurkha that came up with this idea and slap a $199.99/cigar MSRP on it. Herfing

i have no doubt that one leaf gets cut into a hundred pieces and each cigar gets a sprinkle of Pre embargo dust. just a gimmick... If you like the cigar for the flavor then enjoy it, you won by finding a cigar you enjoy at a price you clearly don't mind paying even if the original catch was a marketing gimmick . if the idea of the pre embargo tobacco is why you like it then... you are the target for the gimmick and they won.

See Rocky Patel for your answer….

Also, once the family sold the brand I quit buying. Try a CLE or a Eiroa instead.

I’d also suggest JRE too.

I’mma big fan of the Aladino Corojo line but they offer many different blends to suit your palate.

I doubt there is any cuban tobacco in that cigar. Anyone who had a lost, but aged well bale of cuban tobacco would either sell it on the open market or roll cigars whith the filler being 100% cuban tobacco. Nothing but a huge gimmick IMO!

All they need is a speck of dust from that old bale and they are technically not lying...

Copied from the Mothership’s site describing the cigar:

“Camacho’s finest. A robust, yet elegant treat.

Camacho Pre-Embargo is one of the most unique cigars on the market. The blend begins with a vintage ’99 Jamastran Corojo wrapper draped around a complex filler blend including a significant portion of authentic pre-embargo Cuban tobacco - the very same tobaccos used in Camacho’s beloved Liberty series. Medium in body with a rich flavor profile, Camacho’s 1962 Pre-Embargo size brings copious amounts of flavor, including wood, leather, nuts, and spices.”

The highlight is me but you can’t put a speck of a leaf if you’re claiming “…significant portion…” in your marketing of the cigar. Now, about that lawyer…. Whistle

I'm just going to throw the bullshit flag.

It's complete and utter bullshit.

You hear all these folks saying how much better the "choose a region where tobacco is grown" cigars are, but every damn cigar manufacturer does what?? Compares their stuff to Cubans. Compares their tobacco to Cubas. Tells you their tobacco is "Cuban seed".

Accept no substitutes. Don't buy the bullshit.

**Says the guy buying non-Cuban cigars due to the ridiculous prices of Cuban cigars right now**

All true.
I’m no CC expert by any means, having smoked probably less than 50 in my life.
They are good, but there is plenty enough good NCs to meet my needs, and at much better prices.
I think Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco is some of the best in the world, with Honduran right up there as well.

Well....Jeffery BUMSTEAD....

AFTER you smoke your "pre-embargo" sticks....

Do you see visions of Marilyn Monroe, hear the music from CAMELOT, ask not what your nation can do for you but what you can do for the SVVVWEEEDES?
IF YOU START GROWING A BEARD, SHOP AT ARMY NAVY STORES AND BUY GREEN CANVAS ARMY CLOTHES
BUT SEE VISIONS OF CHE' GUEVARA's mug IN THE MIST....

YOU REALLY DO HAVE "PRE- EMBARGO MOLDY TOBACCO".
