Johnson gets the gavel aaaaand.....
Pushes for a Clean CR and he reached across the aisle to Dems (Like McCarthy).

You, Jamie, other posters here and Far Right Freedom Caucus Squad of 8 has to denounce this.

At least throw a casual Off With His Head! He's kicking the can. he's working with the Demoncrats.

Ya gotta stay on message. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Take my post as in a low octane, smirk, and not a full on troll of your prior (and maybe current) position on the matter.

Yeah, I do. Hypocrisy knows no one party.
How do you feel about Johnson’s decision?

I don’t support CRs. Did Johnson elbow anyone?

I'm torn. On the one hand I support cuts to Fed spending that the hard liners are wanting (in most cases). On the other hand my portfolio just jumped about $60K yesterday due to delaying a government shutdown. The market doesn't like uncertainty. Think

The biggest driver was inflation dropping and the bet that the Fed is now done raising interest rates. Maintaining all that free government deficit spending doesn’t hurt. (Screw the millennials and Gen Z. They can deal with the national bankruptcy. Kick that can like a 60 yard field goal!)

That can has been kicked by every administration both R and D for the last 40 years. The Fed has not raised the rate since May. Kinda funny that that "bet" only happened yesterday.

The Fed paused but kept talking tough like they would raise again. Yesterday inflation was defeated.

Yes. It transitioned into everything costing 20% more permanently but now it’s over!

But once the Inflation Reduction Act was passed, you couldn’t get Inflation and you couldn’t transmit it to others.

It is your responsibility to protect me from you, and yourself from you, which is why my mine is there for you, which is good for me, for you, and America. Plus 10% for the Big Guy.

Congress is turning into a STEEL CAGE
MMS EVENT lately....
Everybody is elbowing, body blocking, yelling face to face , threatening bodily harm, calling people to the floor for a fight or to go outside to fight...
Sounds like the U.K. HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT...

"The keyword here is BLACKWHITE. Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to BELIEVE that black is white, and more, to KNOW that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary." — George Orwell, 1984

Figure it’s Groundhogs Day again, so topping this. The Republicans as they showing America they are unable to effectively govern.

McCarthy kicked the can and got canned. Now Johnson is kicking the same can.

C’mon, Trumpers. Crucify him!

Y’all need a new Speaker!

Get Matt, MTG, AND Mace screaming for his head!

Since the Republicans aren’t capable of pouring pizz out of a boot if the instructions were written on the bottom of the heel, just hand the gavel to the Democrats.

For the first time in my adult life, the Democrats are the adults in the room.

Meet the new Speaker same as the old Speaker.

What the Republicans need is an EXTREMIST that's ready to beat the left into submission instead of CAVING.
That's the way it would work anyway if there were a majority of principled conservative/libertarian types in the party, but there isn't.

Problem is absolutely no one is willing to meet halfway on anything. People don’t seem to understand the concept that unless a single party has a majority in the House, a super majority in the Senate and occupies the White House in the event that party does control the Senate absolutely nothing can be done (or use the Obamacare nuclear option). Absent that the status quo by default is maintained.

They idea that there will ever be a conservative majority able to make the required changes will require major changes to the Republican platform to attract enough voters to elect enough Republicans to enact these changes. But I don’t see that happening until the average Republican voter determines that fiscal responsibility is a higher priority than the hot button issues that prevent the party from attracting enough voters to elect to required number of candidates to do the job.

Remember the words of Javier Milei. I naturally agree 100%

Quote:
"You can't give s**t leftards an inch. All collectivists, all kinds of collectivists. [...] They are s**t!

"If you think differently from them they will kill you. This is the point. You can't give s**t leftists an inch, if you give them an inch they will use it to destroy you.

"You can't negotiate with leftards. You don't negotiate with trash because they will end you!"
