What I find totally amazing is that DRONE TECHNOLOGY has totally surpassed piloted aircrafts in some areas....

The F-35 is one real futuristic weapon that is still in it's infancy...

perhaps the 85% guarenteed performance was a...

Each one is about $100 million each....
Hence the question...was the SC pilot a complete pooooooohhhhssssssaaaayyyy and eject for no reason???
Or was the "mishap" a serious plane control problem....

I heard the F35B has auto-eject ability. Maybe AI decided to eject the pilot without his consent?
Another $100 million of stolen loot out the window.

I’m not a military hardware guy. From the little I think I know, the A-10 Warthog was a low flying, low speed, tank in the air, easy to fly, dependable, inexpensive, and was rarely shot down. And it was mothballed.

A-10 wasn’t inexpensive, titanium subframe and tub and maintenance isn’t cheap. But it’s also not near what these next gens are.

Jonsie my problem is the same as with most govt contracts. For reference look at the Sig contracts.

I don't know that a manufacturer can guarantee a FMC rate. I guess they can but they have no control over it once the USAF takes possession of the aircraft. At one time, 75%-80% was the lowest acceptable FMC rate for the USAF.

I read somewhere recently that the USAF was now more focused on readiness than aircraft FMC rates. From where I sit it appears they have been more focused on DEI rather than the mission. Lower your standards and performance and capabilities will suffer.

What matters is diversity and drag shows.

We’ve updated our standards.

When a carrier strike group deploys 7 EA-18 Growlers,2 more than usual than has ever been deployed with F/A 18 Super Hornets ............it really makes me question the F 35's true capability, which also brings their dependability into question

Technology is GRRRRRRREATTTTT!!!

JUST ASK TONY THE TIGER!!!!

UNTIL IT BREAKS....

AND "THE BAD PART " TAKES THREE WEEKS TO GET TO BEFORE YOU CAN REPLACE IT...LET ALONE 5 MONTHS WAIT TO ACTUALLY GET THE PART...

THERE is a definite advantage to having things that actually
Work , ARE SIMPLE IN DESIGN AND are currently in inventory, can be fixed very quickly and back up in duty within hours....

Hence, the A10
AND THE SKYWARDEN...( ONCE IT ARRIVES)
