count against buying hiatus?
I’m saying no…
Tenski has 3 triple flame torches, big tank with visible window, blah blah….
19 delivered…

Only problem? They are RP torches…………..hopefully they are better than their cigars?

I bought overpriced S.T. Dupont lighters just to see if they were any better than the 60 some-odd dollar Xikar ones. They're about the same, quality wise. The give-aways in the CBid herfadors are total garbage. They last about a month. A mid-$30 or $40 dollar range torch should suit you just fine. And, no - they don't count against your cigar buying hiatus. Some members' mileage might vary.

Whew………..was hoping that didnt count.
Im now on day two…………..d'oh!

BTW, I still have 6 or 7 cheapies that have lasted me 5+ years.
One of my favs is this heavy, brickish Diesel triple flame lighter that has been rockin as my porch torch for seven years.
Think I paid $12 for it.
I’ve also had three or four cheapies that were crap.

Easily the best bang for the buck is the Vertigo Cyclone lighter. At under $10 they work great, you’ll get plenty of life out of it and won’t worry if you lose it and have to buy another.

I have one of those cheapies...quad flame...I've had it more than 19 years.

Only run Xikar puroflame through my lighters. I have another one that's older that I got when I used to order in Hong Kong thats stamped with Cohiba.

Cost isnt everything.

The very fact that you are looking at buying lighters when you say you have plenty says it all.d'oh!

I wasn’t just looking…
d'oh!

Well you have a point.
But in my defense…
I need a lighter for da front porch, da back deck, and 2 for ma truck!
Then, my WIFE!!! has a real bad habit of “borrowing” one of my lighters, and then promptly misplacing it.
(Probably has to do with the “cigars” she smokes on occasion…)
My son bums lighters off me now and again as well………permanently.

My solution?
I have my four….…….porch, deck and truck, that everyone knows not to touch, on penalty of slow death.
I keep three hidden as backups. (Fuel is also kept hidden)
I keep three in a cigar box in my office that wifey borrows, and that others can use, etc.

BTW, this phenomena isn’t limited to lighters at my house.
Same for scissors, tape, staplers, rulers, pens, reading glasses, etc.
I live with my wife, daughter, grand daughter, and a high maintenance, somewhat dangerous female dog (German Shepard Queensland Heeler mix)
I’m out numbered and obviously getting punished for sins committed in a previous life….
