Tatuaje, So Confusing

The Tatuaje line is making my head hurt.

The website doesn't match product stock at stores and I just want to cuddle up with my favorite broadleaf.

I just ordered a 10 count box of Tatuaje Reserva 7th. On Tat's website, this cigar does NOT have the "broadleaf" sub label, but is described as "broadleaf" above it in the name: https://www.tatuajecigars.com/reserva.html

Store said they were actually OOS of that vitola, I said "Gimme the damn Noellas Broadleaf." When I look on Tat's website, the Noella isn't even there anymore in the Reserva-Broadleaf line, just in the Selecion del Cazador (brownl label) line: https://www.tatuajecigars.com/cazador.html

CI mothership page lists the Noellas as Broadleaf, but at this point, I am totally confused as to which Tatuaje cigars are definitely broadleaf.

Any help here?

Reserva is generally broadleaf.

Certain sizes I believe were brought back just for the Broadleaf project which initially was the 100ct boxes then demand and materials prompted the 10 Ct boxes. I got 2 different sizes of 10ct boxes and I was really let down with the Noella.

What are they doing now? I dunno, Pete is obsessed with freaking Connie and SA wrappers now.

It’s already hard enough to find regular brown label stock, I’m not shocked if broadleaf is following suit. If they quit making PCRs Pete is gonna have some serious issues….

dang thats not right. I was going to say most their boxes designate broadleaf on the box and reserva broadleaf in the name when its a broadleaf wrapper used. Maybe they are broadleaf. Only one way to find out, smoke one ROTT!

Back around a decade I was dreaming of the even older days when I smoked machine made Ct broadleaf cigars, I bought some Tat broadleaf La Casita Criollas. Smoked a corona today and still don't like them. I'll have to smoke the rest of the short churchills soon. They haven't gotten any better - but they haven't gotten worse yet..

Stogie, I have a 10 ct box of the Noellas Reserva Broadleaf purchased months ago and just tried one. These are kind of a disappointment compared to the originals. Not bad in any way but just doesn't have the richness of the originals which came in a 25 ct without cello. New normal I guess.

I have two of the 10 count boxes from recent purchases, maybe not knowing how good they used to be is a blessing!

Yup, totally agree. I’ve been lucky enough to try a few older smokes that were GREAT but when I smoked newer versions of the same cigars, they just weren’t the same. But, I almost always shrugged it off because of the difference in age; however, as my newer cigars got to be the same age (…in terms of rest time…), they didn’t replicate the same taste and flavors as the much older ones. I won’t say I was disappointed but like you said, maybe it would have been better if I never knew how great they used to be.

seems to be a repeating theme...at first I thought it was my palate and or memory which may embellish the past...but by comparison smoking (one on one day and the other the next day) there was usually a clear winner and it was the earlier version

You really should work through a few sizes in the Brown line (unicos, cazadores, 7th, petite cazadores, Noella, Especials) IMO. Some of the wrapper variants as well (Reserva = maduro Reserva Especiale= Sumatra).

My favorites are the Petite Cazadores Reserva (PCR) 7th in all 3 wrappers and Especiale in the standard wrapper.

Also in the Brown line is the Cojonu extension line. I like all of these save the one that is 6x60 (Gran Conoju?)

The old Le Verite 2009 and 2013 were amazing but long gone.

Pete Johnson is really into Connecticut wrappers now so most of the new stuff has that for a wrapper.

Mexican Experiment II is good if you like San Andreas wrapper. I don’t and this is still a good cigar.

Also the Black Label is good but I don’t obsess over these like the Pete fan boys.

Currently smoking a Tatuaje Tuxtla 10th Belle Encre. The Tuxtla line is spot on for me, this one is starting out great and getting better.

The Avion Tuxtla is the best in the line IMO, but I rarely have the time to smoke a cigar that large.

Got a Box from Purple Hands LLC on Friday! Took a break from the Socials this weekend to spends some quality time with fam before fall kicks off as this is a very busy time of year for us and we don't get a ton of time together so apologies for the delay.

Special shout out to Owner Lauren Boebert and her Business Partner ZRX for the Goodies. Got to say though. Bit surprised ya'll went the LLC route and not the Non Profit Route... Better Tax Breaks with a NP. The Purple Glove to show both sides protections that won't offend religious sensibilities and nots to prevention was a nice touch.

Included beside the personalized note and Purple Glove
1 Bag of Laurens favorite snack... NUTS, specifically Spicy coca covered nuts. (they are delicious and will go very good with a cigar and cup of coffee)

All new to me except the L'atalier which i did not even realize was a Tatuaje, i have had the ME2 but not the regular ME so very excited to try these out.
Tatuaje Verocu
Tatuaje ME
Tatuaje Cojonu
Tatuaje Reserva Broadleaf
Tatuaje Black
Tatuaje Cazador Nicuragua x2? i think...
L'atelier (didnt realize these were Tatuaje)

Big thanks to ZRX1200 for the reach across the isle and giving a hand to a BOTL!

About to put on Beetlejuice and light up this Verocu with my morning coffee.
