What cigars do you prefer fresh (less than 1 yr in your humidor), as opposed to well aged?

I have the palette of a caveman, but so far, I prefer the JdN Antano and Punch Diablo fresher rather than aged. They seem to lose their ""zest" when I let them sit for a year or two.

Davidoff Winston Churchill Late Hour churchill shouldn't be left to sit longer than a couple of months but ideally, smoke them when you get them.
Montecristo Platinum Casino II's do very well after a couple of years. In fact, they become extraordinarily blissful.

Papas Fritas……….yeah, I smoke those, and I like em after a short one month nap, out to about a year or so.
Tenski had a deal on them recently, and I resisted …….no space……thus, I’m back on track for my summer hiatus

since my self-imposed Ironclad Resolution, I have very little fresh stock, so I've been working through my various cigar storage containers. I've dug out some aged and forgotten smokes and have found that most cigars that I considered OK when fresh are still only OK, some have dipped a little and a very few have improved. I've not noticed any particular trends or consistency among brands, so this is all hit or miss...

I have found that I do enjoy aged OpusX and CC's like larger RG Montecristos, Bolivars and Trinidads...those seem to get better, but who can afford them at today's prices???

My advice now is to smoke the ones you really like because they likely won't get better.

I like DE better fresh, and generally speaking Tatuaje Maduros (PCRs for some reason age fine though, by that I mean less variance when aged). Viajes can also be hit or miss with me aged/not aged.

Oh and my local got a box of the new H99 Papa Fritas, I got one, I’ll report back when I smoke it this week (fresh).
