that was one of a growing phenomenon in SoCal...buncha guys and gals predetermine on social media when to show up in their cars and descend on an intersection/group of intersections and do a "street takeover" in other peeps' neighborhoods...Compton has been a common target for some reason and those arrested have been labelled "outsiders" by the LASO...
It's a huge problem across SoCAl ... in LA county alone, LASO and LAPD responded to more than 1,200 street take overs in 2022...cities in neighboring Orange County have also been plagued by this...seems to have started when the pandemic hit...
rare to have such destruction of property and theft...usually just a lot of burned rubber left on the streets...there was one near our house a couple of months ago...lasted about 5 minutes...buncha cars, some hot rods, but many average ones, most with loud mufflers... engines roaring, tires squealing and smoking...surprised there haven't been more injuries/deaths...
