Hi there
I’m a new cigar smoker. Looking for suggestions for cigar case that will hold a few cigars and other items. Looked on Amazon those look ok.

Thanks

Howzit!

Welcome aboard!

A few questions:

1. How many cigars?

2. What kind of "other items" are you thinking?

3. Are you gonna travel with the case or just from your house to a cigar lounge or a friend's place to smoke?

Tony will be along with a slew of other questions but give us some feedback on the above first.

1. About 5 cigars
2. Cutter and lighter
3. Leaving my house to cigar lounge

Thanks

Those “herf a dor” by humicare they sell on here work for me with my golf bag. They’re hard cases so I don’t break a cigar in golf bag. I put 4 in there and a cutter. You could get some lighters in there. I’ve got a vertigo that’ll fit.

They usually sell those with 5 cigars in them when you get them. But every once in a while they’ll be 5 good cigars. (Rare) I got mine with some random yard gars. Bought for the cases. I actually really like them. Think they make larger ones but this could fit the bill for what your looking for

Get a Plano tackle box with the good gaskets.

Really though Xikar makes good stuff.

They're discontinued but maybe you'll be lucky and find one of these:

I have no idea how well mine would hold humidity but if I was traveling I’d likely toss them right in there and roll. I’m sure they’d be fine. Has a gasket.

Another vote for herfador.

I have a 5, a 15, and a 40?

I bring cigars, cutter, and lighter any trip I take. I put a boveda in there too. Hadn't used my 15ct since last January, still had 5 cigars and the boveda still plump, all good.

Palama that’s a nice looking case if you’re carrying extra goodies.

65$ Though. There’s still some out there. Pretty easy to find

If they come with the cutter then that's not a bad price.

I forget how much mine cost but once upon a time they used to be a regular item up for auction.

I have like 3 of these. My favorite travel cigar case period. I use this as my daily staging and travel humidor.

Hmm, I should do that too instead of letting it collect dust 'cause I haven't gone anywhere in 3+ years.

I have a couple of the herf-a-dor size 5 and one of the 15. I use the 5s all the time and the 15 when I travel. You can fit a 7.5 inch cigar in them so if you pack 6 inch cigars you still have an inch and a half for your cutter and torch.

I bought one for a Caldwell sampler. Didn't really care about getting the case or not, mainly just wanted the cigars. But the whole thing was less than $25. I saw another one the other day, bid on it and lost (again for the cigars). I think it sold for about $22 if I remember. It also came with some quad lighter I've never used.

I would go with herf a dors. I have a 10, 2-15s and a 40. I also have a few leather and metal cases- none of which I have used in years for fear of humidity loss. Cutters, punches and lighters go in my pocket or in a small accessory box.

I've got a couple 5s (one Xicar and one Cigar Caddy) and a 15 (actual capacity 10). The last I found on Amazon and works well. Accessories I keep in a small drawstring pouch. Definitely not a purse

The only complaint I have about the cigar locker is the humidor compartment is only 6in long. So only way u can store longer sticks is to put them at an angle which takes away from its total capacity. Those 15count herf-a-dors a a good in that u can hold 10 full length sticks on the bottom levels and leave your top level open for accessories. U can do the same thing with the 10 count. 5 on bottom, accessories on top. The accessory space in the xikar cigar locker is the best though imo.

Check out this travel case I just came across for $379. Looks really nice if you have the extra change.

I can replace several stolen cigars with $379. Don't think I need to dual markup of Davidoff and Vaultek brands

I'm not in the market but seems like Vaultek doesn't sell direct. They do have some nice cases though and nice handgun safe.

And…
A basic lighter and cutter, one big 65rh Boveda pack, and a couple fivers of Melanios, Imperiosas, and Jaime Garcias.

I've got one about that size I use for dry boxing. Never did hold humidity for long.
