Give it 4 to 6 weeks more at a maximum until you get beautiful weather for 6-8 months.

Slowly decreasing pain and stiffness; slowly improving ROM. Slowly cutting down on the pain pills, muscle relaxants, and such, over the next few days. Wound check/stitches out Thursday. Will probably be given the go ahead driving again then.

Can't wait to swim again.

Ribeye, mushrooms and onions cascading over it, baked potato, butter, sour cream, garlic bread. Dessert, strawberry rhubarb pie ala mode.

Not a bad lunch.

Safely home on the couch to watch some of the actual game.

Question: Why do the locals talk loudly even in a quiet breakfast place? I can see it in a bar but it is ubiquitous here. In Az everyone would consider it rude and boisterous.

They might have bad hearing that causes them to speak louder, or they are just arrogant assholes that want everyone to hear what they have to say.

Other than the days on Cape Cod the weather has been fantastic. We chose this time of year to be between summer vacations and leaf peeping tours and it worked out great.

A couple of observations:
To get to any small town in new England you must pass the graveyard.

If there aren’t 5000 Dunkin’ Donuts places in New England then there ain,t cow in Texas.

Plenty of old graveyards in MA. I think there are 4 or 5 in my little town. There are 2 within a 5 minute walk from my place. One behind a church on the hill, and a pretty big one that overlooks a small lake nearby.

Dunkin' Donuts, these things grow like weeds out here. In my small town of 20k we have 4 of them.

Then we also have a Cumbies (Cumberland Farms gas and convenience store - the only thing other than the hospital, CVS, and the police station that is open 24 hrs). Ironically or strategically they are right next door to the police station and kitty-corner from one of the Dunkin Donuts. Cumbies coffee, in my opinion, is better than Dunkin' coffee.

Recently had a Starbucks move into town. Not sure how well they will do as Dunkin' and Cumbies have a pretty strong foothold in town.

Trucks back for its final service appointment under my ownership. Fix it or don't, I do not care.

For shiggles I went to sales and asked about trade on the one Ram 2500 they had on the lot. Cummins high trim level sticker was 88k. They offered $11,385 for my trade...

Carmax is saying 29k. Giving them a chance to fix it before I dump it. If by some miracle I get a new trans, I'll keep it another year. Warranty is up next August.

I almost nevah have coffee after my morning home brewed large cup, but I used to, and Dunkie's was my preferred cup followed by Mary Lou's (local chain). What I learned about each of those was how much the water source affected the coffee.
We have fairly soft water in my town and both places serve very good coffee, but even just a town or two away where the tap water is horrid the franchises' coffee offerings suck

My rental car fiasco is over.

Finally talked to the manager at the Denver Airport alamo location instead of a call center.

He said the car was returned before the due time and no additional charges were assessed. They considered the drop-off time at the wrong company to be the time I returned the car.

Said I was one of 4 people who did that last week.

Water out here is pretty hard mainly due to the bedrock in the area. Iron and calcium are at the high end of the scale but not out of range of acceptable limits. Our drinking water primarily comes from a local lake and the watershed that feeds it. When I had a house in a neighboring town, we had our own well. Again, lots of iron in the water and I had to keep back flushing the the water softener system on a weekly basis.

Water doesn't have much taste to me but I have no problems drinking town water out of the tap.

Some nice rolling thunderstorms coming overhead tonight. I love the sound of rolling thunder, a steady rain and mother nature's lightening show.

Coming in 2nd for storms is a good blizzard (as long as I don't have to shovel the $hit). Fresh pristine clean white snow... the snow just dampens all sound... peaceful and quiet.

Glad that turned out in your favor, Danm. I sometimes ponder the worst in situations like that, too... best to not worry too much and deal with any adversity if and when it actually happens.

You were expecting calamity and it wasn't so bad. Beer

Drove two gross, disgusting cars.
Rode in one fast one and drove a faster one.
The faster one I wasn't sure was really a lot faster so I gave it some juice. It was faster.
Drove a Smart Car. Smart must mean Small.
Gave a ride to a woman who was probably gorgeous 20 years ago. The combo of likely daily tanning and anorexia made her look and sound haggard.

Her vehicle had an air freshener was resting in her ashtray- along with seven cigarette butts.
