New to the site and the hobby of smoking cigars. I am a 21 year old college student from Florida, majoring in business.

I have only been smoking cigars for about 3 months now so I am still trying to figure out what I like. My sister made me try a Jewel Sweet and thought it was terrible, so I decided to see if "real" cigars were any better. Shockingly enough, I really enjoyed them (never would have thought I would be a cigar smoker).

First cigar was a Davidoff, can't remember which one though, but I enjoyed it. I seem to like stronger cigars though. My ex-bf had me try an Opus X and a Oliva V, both of which I loved. I have moved to darker cigars in the last month and have to say that I really enjoy them.

Hoping some of the guys and girls on this site can point me in some good directions.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

**MissAshlie**

Also try a Jamie Garcia Reserva

Welcome! Be advised we're a savvy bunch; There Are No Women On The Internet. Given your undoubtedly true gender, do you mind if we call you Mike?

P.S. In the event you continue to insist you are female, do you mind if we refer to what would undoubtedly be the other truism, and call you MassiveAssy?

Thanks, I will look for those. Right now I am only buying single cigars from a place down the street from campus. I hope to be able to buy some cigars from this site, but from what I have read it is a bit of a mess. So I will wait until things seem to clear up.

Well hello.

Start taking notes, as you're a younger lady there are apps for this or you can just jot something down on the back of the band or a notepad. This will grow to be useless if you delve further into the hobby.

Keep in mind what flavors/profiles you enjoy and a good shop can help direct you.

Maduro (darker wrapper leaf) tends to have coffee and chocolate notes and a bit sweeter. Welcome to the maddieheadedhoeclub, I'm a charter member.

Hope you are ready for the comments you're about to get here......

I was just going to ask if there were any other women on this site. Guessing not.

What do you mean by undoubtedly true gender? Last time I checked I was a woman.

Just so you know, I do not have a big butt. Sorry to disappoint. You can call me Ashlie, Ash, the girl and I don't even mind chick as long as you aren't rude about it.

I also enjoy fishing, hunting, dirt bikes and vodka (flavored preferably).

Thanks, Jamie. I am a big girl. I think I can handle a bunch of immature men considering that is the same as all of the guys on campus.

Big as in confident, strong and independent. Sorry that you do not know that words have different meanings.

At 5'7" and 125 lbs, I can honestly say that I have never been fat.

If you do learn to use the search function before posting questions as this forum has been around since 2001 or 2002 (?) a lot of ground has been covered.

You could get into the noob/vet thread and get a vet who would do a trade with you and be like a guide for ya. We keep an eye on our noobs till they get the flow here. Also there is A LOT of inside jokes that have long history so don't get caught up in too much too soon.

Thanks, I will do that!

I don't have anything to trade unfortunately, right now I am only buying 1-3 cigars at a time. I don't even have a humidor yet.

Always possible.

If it's not a pseudo handle with someone having fun.

Don't take ^ that personally if you're real Ashlie, like I said we've seen things here.

don't worry about a conventional humidor. A tupperware container (tupperdor) and a 65% boveda pack will get you going. Your local shpo can give you a couple of pieces of spanish cedar to throw in there.

Neither. If she is being honest... she's younger than my son. If she's actually a dude trying to catfish old cigar smokers, it wouldn't turn me on, it would make me want to take him on a charter fishing trip... Whistle

I've only known a couple women to smoke cigars. Most others are too concerned with how their breath would smell which is ironic considering some of the other things I've seen them put in their mouth. Being a huge fan of irony, I'll let this pass. As for your question - what to smoke, I suppose its all personal preference. Do you like big, thick dark ones, or smaller, lighter ones? Your recent dabbling in a Short Story answers this. As for taste, I find they all taste like smoke.

Welcome to the crazy bin, MissAshlie. We have a few sisters in here who make appearances every now and then: DaQueenBeez, BoilerEMT, Shovellgirll, Mrs. Tank, lluvia, (sorry if I forgot other female contributors). Hopefully you'll be able to connect with them and get an authentic female response to your questions.

One word of caution: do NOT fall for the camping ruse...

Here is a link that we use to welcome all newcomers. It will give you true insight to the nature of the group...

You guys must really not get many ladies on this board if you are so paranoid to believe one actually got on here.

Sorry for those wanting pictures, especially as described. I am a modest girl. Not happening. Nice try though...I give you a B- for effort.

I will have to try that tupperware trick. What are Boveda packs exactly?

In regards to the comments about fishing for cigars, I don't want any hand outs. I am only here to learn and have some fun.

Boveda packs are what you ladies stuff in your bra along with your cigars so that they stay nice and humidified.

I'm not buying it, this has got to be hank who finally broke down into multiple personalities.

You have to go to the Everything Else/Miscellaneous forum and it has to be a certain size otherwise if it is too big it won't post. But also it has to be approved.

Unfortunately the upload isn't working, so you'll have to upload somewhere else and post a link to it.

Yes, we're skeptical... that Emma girl was fishy, I had my doubts about that one.
