Spent an entire day on a charter boat with only 12 anglers. The capacity is 55. Ryan Bostian, owner/operator of the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing is a fish magnet. The guy just knows where to find yellowtail.
We went south of the Coronado Islands, then headed west, farther out to sea. Ryan and his first mate, Matt, were glassing the water looking for kelp paddies. Even the really small ones had fish under them. I quickly landed two 5-6 pounders, then went stone cold as everyone around me was hooked up. Then when I did hook up and got #3 to the boat, I lost it at the rail trying to get it over.
I put two more fish in the boat... and went stone cold again. Failed on two hookups. Finally, at the last stop on our way home, I boated my 5th fish (limit). It was a good day.
Oh... I burned a QdO corona after my breakfast sammich, and a Monte Tubo for the ride home.
