So, now, I'm thousands of miles from home, and will be away from there for the next 2 weeks, and chances are when I get back, I'll have several hundred dollars of ruined cigars waiting for me on the front porch. What recourse do I have then? call customer service, and ask for a reship? 120 inbound lines, all tied up, with only a handful of people on the answering end, you'll understand where I'm a bit wary.

OMG I hope we're not still non-stop for another two weeks. What little hair I have left will be on the floor by my chair.... You can always PM me here. While I work with a different business unit now, I still make sure Shana and DaMarie aren't taking too much of a beating. And of course, I get a message that I have a PM. Herfing

I will also tell you that upper management is actually out on the warehouse floor packing and picking boxes and working to figure out ways to do some of things we did before. My boss goes out every day around 4pm to pick and pack boxes until about 8pm each day. That's after a full day of dealing with all of us! ram27bat

This computer change was a complete 100% change from what we had before. That system, we all knew how to work around its 'eccentricities' and get the job done. This one, we're still figuring it out and upper management is out there working on just that. We had to change systems though, because the old one was outdated and couldn't handle any kind of upgrades.

Could communication have been better? Of course. Communication is always at fault - from internal and external workings of businesses to failed marriages. And if I could make the danged Sticky notes work, this would have been the top message on the forum!! (Inside joke for the fog )

Anyway, please stick with us. Trust me when I say we are truly doing everything we can.

So you're saying with the new system we'll have actual, factual "stickies" in the forum!?

Awesome sauce!

CBID customer service department is two people? And one was on vacation during the 'upgrade'?
What could possibly go wrong?

I always assumed there were 4 to 6 CS staff...prolly should be?

DaMarie being on vacay and "help" coming in switched the tempo up a bit. Discussing the general difficulties with DaMarie left your feeling at least a bit at ease. Yesterday my husband spoke with someone about a mold issue, reported weeks ago that's gone without response and was told he'd have to return the sticks (waiting for return labeling to arrive-like shipping is so speedy these days) and before a credit or replacement could be issued. Ah, I threw them away on trash day. He's pictures of them he'd submitted via email and DaMarie had seen them and expressed concern. This new person asked the standard insulting question, "is it mold or plume"......"are you sure it's not plume"...??? We'd been told an email would come weeks ago or a phone call (which never came) and as all other issues had been resolved I'd thrown them out. Now he's out from my frustration with seeing a box I know has mold festering in it in my home. The answer from this new person, the company line...and an offer to wave shipping on two other pending orders (which brings his total to four we're waiting on) which already should have shipping waved if I'm not mistaken...quoting company line myself. So the peace offering amounts to zippy- and still no return email or call from their side of this. For some reason he's giving the company chance after chance but personally I hope he takes the new girl up on her offer to cancel out all unfilled orders and be finished with this.

Why?

Never understood that...I've knows at least two people that really like turtles...one guy, in fact, swore that his turtle was smarter than his lab...seemed a bit nuts to me, but basically harmless, I guess...the other was a grown woman with quite the affection for turtles...????

My wife and aunt love turtles...I don't really get it either. The wife stopped collecting random turtle stuff about 10 years ago when she was 23...praise God! She had a pet turtle when we first started dating...it was disgusting.

My aunt on the other hand, I have never seen so many turtle figurines in my life.

ddraggon makes very good points, ones I wish I would have read prior to getting myself tangled in this cigarbid mess. This is my first time dealing with the company and I am certain it will be my last. At this point I'm not sure if I should contact my credit card company promptly or just wait it out to see how long it take until I receive the products that have been purchased.

Unfortunately for you, you arrived at the wrong time. I've been ordering cigars/accessories from CBid for 13 years, and I have had very few issues and all were handled promptly and professionally.

They just attempted a website upgrade of some sort, that was an unmitigated disaster, that they're furiously trying to recover from. I'd give it a month. They'll be back to their usual, smoothly running business. Seriously.

Sorry slugger there was only mewling out of his cries to God.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

Have no fear we'll try to keep this place running in your absence.

Buh bye.
