Receiving Cigars I didn't order, waiting for what I did order

Very concerned about Cbid. On Feb 28 I ordered a lot of Arganese, 3 days later I received some cigars I didn't order. Although I received all the usual notifications with the correct information on them, the order doesn't show up in my account. Like everyone else, getting a busy signal when I call. Even the parent company CI's phone system is overloaded. Their Free Fall auctions are not work either. I think they are in real technical trouble. They need a better IT Change Management and SDLC process to prevent failures like this. Now we all have to wait it out. No way am I placing a Cbid or CI order until this all flushes out. BTW, they also own Cigar.com, so don't look there for a temporary source.

Yeah, I have an order that shows processing from weeks ago, and received an order that never showed up on My Orders page! Have winning bids that should have shipped but haven't (no order created yet). And have a handful of winning bids scheduled to ship tomorrow. I've submitted to support tickets, neither has been touched. It's really disappointing.

Every other time I've had an issue or contacted Cbid, they have been great. So I will cut them some slack this time. But I do hope they get things sorted.

I have an order for about $200 that I've been charged for that one single cigar was delivered on and I have been waiting on the rest since Feb 2nd, and I tried 15 times to get through to CBid today. I've turned it over to my credit card company at this point. So sad.

Well, about this time all the so called vets should be coming in telling us all to eff off and making fun of us for not having massive stock piles of cigars. In 3, 2, 1....

There's quite a few threads on this sore topic.
The software upgrade went sideways................then fell off a cliff.
A week ago I, like several of the more forgiving FOGs here, would have told you not to worry, things will be fine soon.

Now? I'm not sure what to think.
But I'll go ahead and say this...
If they drop this Forum...........that will be a bad sign.

Well of course that's gonna happen Emma!
Geez........learn to read a fuggin room! This is fifth grade!

By the way, having at least a little bit of backup with respect to a cigar stash is always a good idea.............for many reasons..........not just to protect yourself from running out in the event of a missed shipment or two.

I know, but I am a younger woman, trying to put herself through med school, I don't have the money for a stash and the few times a year I can afford a few sticks is a blessing. Spring Break is almost here and I just wanted to relax around the house (it was 65 here in Minnesota today!), smoke cigars, watch hockey, and do some spring cleaning. Now it looks like that is out. If I could just get my damn money back I could go elsewhere, but with med school I am on the strictest of strict budgets.

I would think you would be HAPPY. Any cigars they would send you have to be BETTER then Arganese, LOL. Just sayin'!

Reason for lack of apparent concern here?

A lot of folks on this forum secretly want an excuse to stop binge buying - so are happy for a reason not to buy! This site (as opposed to cigars themselves) can be addicting. "Ooo....oooo........don't need more cigars but I can't pass up THAT deal".

However, the increasing number of FOGs chiming in about this F up is a sign that patience is wearing thin.

I just got an order notification email, so I'm hopeful. It sucks waiting on cigars. But I've been using Cbid for years, and they have always made things right. I can't imagine they are unaware how damaging this is to their reputation. Seeing all the posts on the forum and reading about the phone calls tell me that my bitching isn't going to solve anything, so I will simply wait and hope things get resolved soon. I have cigars to smoke, and can stock up at local shop if necessary. This situation doesn't seem good, but I cannot ignore the years of excellent service from this company.

For those on the Forum whose only solution to this problem is to have a massive stockpile, my question is how much is enough? My guess is the smartass answers will follow this, but seriously, it has been over a month since this shipping SNAFU started and it appears it won't be ending any time soon.

Look, I am all for large stashes. I make custom humidors and would like nothing better than to sell all you guys with big stashes large custom humidors. But that is not the point. The point is there is a major problem at CI/Cbid. They are charging for merchandize they are not providing and they are non-responsive to inquiries.

In this regard, I have two questions. First of all, is it legal for them to charge a credit card before the merchandise is shipped? Secondly, has anyone visited any of the CI retail stores to get any information on the situation as well as see if the retail stores are low on inventory?

Maybe you're on to something here. Rfenst? pacman? I think we have the makings of a really nice class action suit....starting with Amazon...and EVERY other telephone/online retailer and service provider that I've ever done business with......let's get this ball rolling

It's not legal. It's essentially stealing because they are not providing the goods or services that have been paid for. You can get your money back by filling a dispute with the credit card company. Tell them you have attempted to contact Thor vendor several times. They will give you a refund after a couple of days. Once they attempt to contact the vendor themselves.

Arganese Habanos or Maduros at around 65-80 cents each (what I paid for mine on CBID) are great for situations where you're distracted doing someting else and can't concentrate fully on the cigar, so you don't need a high-end complexity level because you don't have the attention to appreciate it.

Of course, I let mine sit for years before smoking them, which helps a great deal! Herfing

Nah, I'm more of a Lake of the Woods ice fishing girl. Case of Grain Belt and a few cigars. Nothing like hearing the ice crackle when you're 9 miles out.
