With about $1500 worth of merch in my que since 2/10 and not one word on the status despite an inquiry via email sent last week, I decided to call the 1-800 number for the first time this morning to see if I could get some info.

The number is down (fast paced busy signal). I also tried calling CI customer service number to maybe backdoor into CBid. Also down. I'm guessing this is not news to some of you?

This is bad for any company but seems inexcusable for a billion dollar conglomerate, right?

This smacks of a company imploding on itself and sinking. Is the end near?

I know this company has been very good to a lot of veterans here and your loyalty runs very very deep. I get it. You don't like bidding competition. I get it. But can even you VOTL's all still say with confidence that this will all truly get sorted out and soon?

Are there any true Cbid insiders on this forum that can at least say:

1) No, the company is absolutely not folding (and you know the because...x & y)

2) The company WILL catch up AND get the orders right and not create a huge domino effect of customers trying to call back to sort out errors in shipping contents but getting only a busy signal.

Without this assurance, there's not much choice but to call my CC company and contest current charges (i'd call this breach of contract) and block any further and try starting again somewhere else. I am really bummed about this because I want to like this company and I spent a lot of research and time building this $1500 worth of orders. Spring is coming fast and now that I have decided to become a regular cigar smoker, I need a good rotation of gars rested up in time for smoking season. Tick tock.

I put in an order for some cutters through CI back on 10 February. It took until the 23rd before they shipped. Not a big deal as I have plenty, but normally they ship within a few days. I can only guess that with a warehouse the size of 2.5 football fields and UPS dropping off and picking up multiple 28' & 45' trailers per day, their order volume is staggering and it's simply going to take a while to dig out from the software fiasco.

BTW, fast busy means circuit trouble, in this case, my guess is that it's overloaded with calls.

Not everyone can be as streamlined as Amazon, but, in the past, for the most part, they have shown that they want to do the right thing.

Can't advise you on what to do. That's up to you.

I have multiple experiences with warehouse/storage/distribution side of big IT upgrades and conversions. Two, in particular, took months to fully recover. But, others were nearly seemless.

As someone (ones?) mentioned earlier, thorough testing of every application with REAL data in a test environment goes a long ways. Also, suspending orders for a day or two at update go-live can be a huge help. CBID customer service has always been outstanding. In fact, there have been a number of very bad warehouse ops periods, in which, I believe CS actually saved cbid by making up for the negatives. I have no doubt they are doing what they can, but TG is undoubtedly correct that the volume of complaints/inquiries has overwhelmed..the phones, the email, the people...

The volume of complaints would go down considerably if they would simply post on this forum and keep us updated. They could also set up a robo call system to notify customers with delayed orders that they apologize etc etc this non communication is more than frustrating it's a complete disregard for customers cbid and cint'l will lose customers and it could all be avoided with showing some respect for us by communicating

I placed a simple order with the Mothership last week Thursday. It shipped a day later. Got a " your order is shipping soon" email the day after the shipping confirm. Will see when I receive the goods.

I made the same point... They got tsunami'ed by this. The tidal wave of complaints crashed over 'em and they're buried.

Perhaps this would be a good time to slip some nip past the oink censors?

won two boxes
had them ship two days later rather than that day
received them in 3-4 days shipping time rather than the standard 2 days
life went on

not trying to be a jerk, but if you dont believe that this company is the best option for your money then certainly move on
i dont think anyone would fault ya
if you want someone to say "there there" and pat ya on the back then we will as we are all pretty pleased with this place

I've never received an email from CBID telling me my order shipped or anything else other than the standard ad emails. They are just shipped and get her in 1-3 business days.

I cannot imagine why they believed a so called UPGRADE was necessary, but I do believe over the next few months they WILL correct all the lame ass problems that this has caused.

Their "sister-company" at the same address, but with a different name, has the exact same problem, so I assume their computers can "talk" to each other and exchange information.
I got so disgusted I tried to 1) cancel the order and get a refund or 2) exchange what I had ordered for an equivalent cigar. Turns out I could do neither. 2 reps lied to me on the phone by telling me that it would be or had been shipped. Nor can I get any idea of when it will actually be shipped. 5 calls and 3 weeks later, I am still waiting.
What a way to run a railroad.

Hey Q - long time no see. You could make a road trip to CI and confront them in person. The worst thing about this I.T. disaster is the inflow of new posters who think 5th graders are intellectually stimulating. The way bidding has gone so high has stopped me from bidding.

It seems like cbid has adopted the strategy of shipping out new orders on schedule while chipping away at the backlog
Ok if that what they are doing. I just can't understand why the hell they don't tell us what they're doing
Ps. If Amazon gets wind of this cluster fart ......
