Pop-Tarts Café Pops Up In New York City
Melissa Kravitz , CONTRIBUTOR

Slew of new mash-up dishes have popped into New York City.

Kellogg’s NYC, the Times Square restaurant known for its $6 cereal bowls created in collaboration with beloved Milk Bar pastry chef Cristina Tosi, has transformed into the Pop-Tarts Café for the week of February 21.

And while almost twenty flavors of the beloved toaster treats are retailing at only $1 per tart, the real reason to visit the Pop-Tarts Café is for the sugary mash-up creations.

On the menu are everything from Birthday Fiesta Nachos ($9) made with confetti cupcake Pop-Tarts with strawberry “salsa” and frosting “cheese”, Chili Pop-Tarts Fries ($8) made from chocolate Pop-Tarts and cookies and creme Pop-Tarts as “ground beef” as well as three types of Pop-Tarts burritos ($12), served with kiwi salsa and frosting “sour cream.” Imagination is in full force as you dig into a saccharine Tex-Mex inspired Pop-Tart creation, but the play-like food is too temptingly colorful to pass up.

To connect with Pop-Tarts loving college students who may not make it to Times Square on the regular, the Pop-Tarts café is also partnering with UberEats on Friday, February 24 from 8 – 10 pm to provide 600 free Pop-Tarts burritos on six New York City campuses.

Has anything every soaked up booze better than a burrito made of cookies and candy?

True to Kellogg’s NYC fashion, every Pop-Tarts Café order will come with special swag or a prize, as if frosting-topped Pop-Tarts weren’t enough of a reward for braving Times Square.

Pop-Tarts Café will be open at 1600 Broadway from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. through February 26.
