It's okay for the libs to make videos like this, but don't let the cons do it.

And which college campus is NOT liberal in this country? I ask because I really don't know of a conservative school.

Didn't GWB catch some flak for making a campaign stop at an ultra-conservative, openly segregationist university? Bob Jones University in South Carolina? ...and it has been called all those names...

I think most religious based colleges and universities, Agriculture and Mechanics colleges and military academies would be conservative.

If I remember correctly the Bob Jones thing had something to do with blacks not being allowed to date whites.... but it wasn't racist and stuff

If all the colleges are liberal then wouldn't that imply conservatives are uneducated?

While I'm not willing to make that statement it seems like an odd one to constantly claim.

you have a tremendous gap in your "logic", assuming everyone who attends a liberal university is a liberal...

you sound like you were edumacated at one of them there institutions boy... you understand that the curriculum - and perhaps more importantly, the way it is presented by the faculty - makes a campus "liberal"... you do understand that even the media regularly refers to cal berkley as a "historically liberal" institution...

I'm not implying anything. You're assuming it... as you usually do.

Just because you pay for an education doesn't mean you got your money's worth, or that you gained any wisdom. Memorize and spew forth.

Opel...
What percentage of students do you assume take these classes you are sayi are "influencing the curriculum "

It's rhetoric to say that colleges are somehow liberal institutions. Seriously... I took math... biochemistry... physics... genetics... chemistry... a number of different courses around biochemistry... and a butt load of russian.

Other than a throwaway history of colonial Brazil and an overview of Hong Kong filmmaking... everything I took was science math or language. And I wasn't unusual.

If you're going to claim that colleges are full of liberals then you're going to somehow also explain how... without resorting to the bs that they're being indoctrinated.

Your quote...
You state it isn't the math department "influencing the curriculum ". That implies you believe some department is...

I'm asking what percentage of students do you really think that applies to.

I earned about 80 credit hours at LSU during the 90's. The only conservative professors I had were the ones who taught Economics, Accounting and Finance. Every other instructor I had was way left of center.

I had an ultra left wing speech professor. One day I figured out how to insure an A in that class with minimal effort. As usual, I didn't prepare a speech that I was supposed give.

On days we had to give speeches whoever came first would write numbers 1-15 on the board. I always arrived early and more times than not I'd be the one writing the numbers and when done I'd write my name next to 15 so I could be the last person to give a speech that day. I'd spend the next hour writing my speech that I'd give so I could turn it in after my turn.

On this particular day I was a bit hung over so I was wearing my shades. Fortunately, I had some highlighters in my back pack. I quickly made a make shift flag and using the cap, attached it to my pen.

When it was my turn, I went up with my shades on and began waving my flag saying Oliver North was a great American hero. Then I took my shades off, put the flag in my pocket then went on a diatribe about how North was a criminal. By the looks on some of the other students faces, I thought I'd have to fight my way out of class. When I finished my speech the professor all but gave me a standing ovation. I got an A+ on that speech. Even though this was half way through the semester and I have a low B average on my other speeches I ended up with an A in the class.

Anthony... nice story... not sure it makes a lot of sense... but heck.
Again... if the liberal professors are restricted to majors that aren't dealing with facts (speechifying.... politics...marketing.. ) then what % do you think that really is?

If the science, economics, math, accounting, finance professors are all non liberals... then I'd hardly consider a college campus to be "liberal"...

Anthony is the one who claimed his economics and finance professors weren't liberal. I just accepted his claim.

I've only taken a couple economic classes and finance classes for my graduate work. There was no discussion of politics, and the economic models taught were pretty classical. I don't think you would have much success claiming a liberal tilt.
