Elevator #2 has been down frequently over the past few months, and I looked in the room where the electric motors and hydraulic pumps are located. #2 is leaking hydraulic fluid. The “fix” has been to put absorbent pads around the pump housing and refill the tank with fluid.
Well… of course we get charged every damn time this d-bag maintenance guy comes out to “fix” the elevator. So I called the trouble desk and specifically told them what was wrong, and that they needed to fix the leak, instead of just refilling the tank and replacing the absorbent pads.
After I made the call, I took down the confirmation number and gave it to the floor supervisor and showed him the issue and told him what I did. Yesterday maintenance guy shows up and he is pissed at me. Starts cursing at me telling me I don’t need to tell him how to do his effing job, he knows what the eff he’s doing… etc. So I said… if you know what the eff you’re doing, why haven’t you fixed the leak?
So… we’re down to 1 elevator, but at least it’s going to be fixed right this time.
Union worker, eh?
