So, I was thinking... (dangerous, I know), should we feed sardines to all the folks who get seasick the night before we go?

That way every time they barf, they'll be chumming the water for us.

I heard you need two seats and the belt extension. So that puts your seat(s) at about 1K. Given all the advice and moral support youve already gotten for free, I think the ticket is getting a little greedy.

Dsteiger where you coming from? San Jose and San Francisco are both good airport options but there are lots of smaller ones that may offer cheaper options...

Drafter - okc to sf round trip is just a touch over $300...

And your point is? Tell her you're gonna hang out with the guys. She'll understand. If not, she and her gf's can go without you. Besides, it's not like you have to go to Portugal to buy good oporto. I'm sure you have a decent wine cellar within pissing distance.

Yep...Victor can go to Portugal, his GF and her friends can go fishing with us. We'll teach them proper pole holding techniques and how to keep rod tips up...

Clearly you didn't catch the innuendo... I don't believe he was talking about 'fishing', per se.

I like that idea even better. I'm sure I can come up with a cover over the weekend in case Cindy reads this thread.

Go with the Raiders while there's still room on the bandwagon...too bad Carr got hurt...but it was getting annoying watching grown-ups in blackface dancing and drinking and yelling and stuff...

Hey opelman, other CA residents I just remembered, besides Bur, Buddha Daddy and xibbumbero: knokmdown and KingoftheCove...not sure if any of them fish, but it'd be cool to herf with them...

What's the "ideal" number of anglers on the boat, and if we reach that, what would be the per person rate? Do we need to add fish cleaning fee and gratuity for the crew? How many persons can the lodge accommodate, and what is the nightly rate?

I checked the Cambria Pines Lodge website, and it looks pretty cool. Hope they don't mind us smoking cigars around the pool or elsewhere on the grounds...

I'm in regardless, and prolly for at least two nights at the lodge (depends on MACS and his work schedule) but this info may help those who have to fly in from the hinterlands decide one way or the other.

excellent questions...

Kingofthecove has betrayed his beloved homeland of Mother California and defected to the pacific northwestish area...

ray is on my fb so I'll hit him up on there...

The endeavor technically holds 35 passengers comfortably, 30 spaciously... they run public trips on wednesdays for 18 guys only... I was on a 20 person load once and it was very roomy...

I have to talk to them to get an exact cost... which day we do it will make a difference... a 10 hour on a saturday for 20-25 guys typically runs about $2500 or so...

ADDITIONAL COSTS

Fish Cleaning - $1/rock cod, $2/ling cod or cabezon... $20 or more is usually the standard... this is where the crew makes their money...

Rod Rental + Tackle Set-up - Around $15

Gunny Sack - $2

Jackpot? - $5-$10 or cigars if we decide to do one

Talked to Joel this afternoon. He told me that when he is relived of his Mr. Mom duties he plans to check out lodging and potential group rates as well as some other things then update the OP.

Standby to standby.

alright, I'm a bit exhausted but I updated the original post... if you're not on the list and want to be - even as a maybe - lemme know and I'll add you...

Also, last week of april, first two weeks of may, start chiming in with specific dates that do/don't work... we will get a better deal on a weekday but weekends are typically fully available as well...

Applause

in my opinion at least, the single greatest factor on the ling cod bite is rain... right before it, they sleep... right after, they gorge... everything else - old farmers almanac and stuff - I have luck no matter what they say...
